To a moth, light years. To a Dragonfly, "Just three short minutes..."

"And when the roses are half-bud soft flowers
And lovely as the king of flies has come
It was a fleeting visit, all too brief
In three short minutes, he had been and gone
He rested there upon an apple leaf
A gorgeous opal crown sat on his head
Although the garden is a lovely place
Was it worthy of so fine a guest
    Oh
    Oh
    Oh
    Oh
    Dragonfly, dragonfly"

    You’d drop Greaves? Seems unlikely.

Same with Sheffield and Rotherham. So it’s a closely fought 0-0 draw.

Fascinating. Anyone else got any smoking hot work expenses stories from a few decades ago?

True, but at least Hull and Hessle don't have the M1 separating them.

    Ooh ooh, I have.

In the late eighties I was living in Sunderland on the dole (there is nothing more depressing than that by the way), and I got an interview for a job in Beverley.

I duly attended but immediately I commenced the interview process, I realised that the job was not for me.

Problem was that if I withdrew or turned the job down they wouldn't pay travel expenses.

Which was cash in hand and without which I literally didn't have the money to get home or eat or anything.

Went through a whole day selection process trying to ensure that I didn't get the job, without making myself look a complete pilchard.

It was quite challenging as the other candidates were a bunch of morons.

    But I managed it.

    True story.

It’s a high bar. I confess I’ve got nothing of that standard. A few “that meal receipt is over the agreed limit” shenanigans, that’s all. Poor show really.

Rotherham and Luton are ‘flying high under the radar’ at the moment. Both clubs appear to play a more ‘direct’ game which goes against the more fashionable ‘possession’ approach but currently is reaping success especially when they are not considered one of the division’s favourites. It seems everyone at these clubs is ‘on board’ with this playing style which many on here have indicated we do not have a preferred one.Obviously, their player recruitment has been focused on the ‘robust’ type of player required to implement this style which again seems to have been lacking with our purchases i.e. the cart before the horse which has resembled a haphazard collection of signings.Recent submissions have highlighted we are ‘vertically challenged’ and miss height, strength and leadership in the squad which the Millers and Hatters have in abundance.
It will be interesting to see if these attributes have a significant bearing on City’s performance and match result tomorrow when we play at Gulliver’ Kingdom!

I didn't say i would drop greaves, however 3 into two doesn't go. Its an opportunity to rest someone. Dropping is a harsh word . Its a squad game

Coyle's back in the squad, but Elder remains doubtful.

In fairness every message board needs a Vern. As well as the usual assortment of ****s, you know who you are, a super dopey **** is essential, and Vern stepped up to the plate big time. :emoticon-0100-smile
