There’s not a lot I can say about the game today although I’ll do my best but spare a thought for me being on BBC Radio 5 Live at 6.20am Friday. Whether we win, lose or draw though I will always turn up for an interview.
Team: Meslier, Bamford (captain), Firpo, Llorente, Kristensen, Aaronson, Roca, Adams, Summerville, Koch and Sinisterra.
Subs: Cooper for Koch (45), Rodrigo for Roca (45), Harrison for Bamford (65), Gelhardt for Sinisterra (75), Klich for Firpo (82).
Subs not used: Klaesson, Gnonto, Greenwood, Ayling.
    Leeds lost the game 2-0.
Attendance: 30,814 with 3,286 Leeds fans.
    Referee: Peter Bankes.
    Booked: Koch.

Leeds started the game brightly and within the first ten minutes it looked like Leicester could be there for the taking. Comments I made to someone stood in front of me were that we couldn’t afford to give them an inch as they’d take a mile, words that came back to haunt us moments later, with our defence wide open, Koch put the ball into the net for Leicester to take the lead. Instead of seeing a fighting comeback from Leeds, our heads went down, and it felt as if the writing was already on the wall. When Leicester got a second goal we were clueless and again wide open at the back. With that being the score at half time, the boos were ringing out loud and clear amongst the Leeds fans.

Despite two changes to the team for the start of the second half, I was resigned to the state of play as we lacked conviction, had no leaders, had no cohesion and it looked like we wouldn’t score in a month of Sundays. That didn’t stop the Leeds fans from getting behind the team and there was still hope, however small, that if we could have pulled a goal back then we were in with a chance. As it was, the nearest we came to a goal was a long range shot from Summerville which was put over the bar and a lob from Klich that was easily caught by the keeper. The Leeds fans really turned on the team at the end and although I didn’t boo, it’s a long time since I’ve seen this from our fans. When Marsch didn’t show his face either, there was a chorus where the f**k is Jessie Marsch amid chants of Bielsa. It’s a far cry from the football we saw under him that’s for sure but there were no excuses for the way we played today either. That’s as bad a game of football I’ve seen in years and with us going down a place in the league, we are close to being in deep trouble. With shouts for Marsch to be sacked, personally I’m not a fan of constant changing managers but would be at a loss as to who could replace him anyway. I stand by my stance that we should never have sacked Bielsa because the bigger picture was that we had an horrendous injury list but still had players to come back into the team. We are no better for making that decision and seeing how far we have fallen since he was sacked, is soul destroying and I always knew the build would not happen overnight but would take time. It felt like we had gone back to being ordinary, but on tonight’s performance, a Sunday league or pub team would have put out a better performance than the one we saw! See you on Sunday, LUFC – Marching on Together!

I thought I heard the fans singing Bielsas name in the second half, I definitely heard the boos at half time. Hope the radio interview went well

Great read as always. Sadly the Bielsa thing is now pointless as he wasn't going to stay on for this season anyway. The problems are deeper than just the coach

They did but I think it's more of a reminder of what we have lost as we know he won't be coming back

The only reason Bielsa wasn't going to stay was because the club decided they didn't want him anymore. I'm positive he'd have kept us up and still stayed as he wouldn't let anything disrupt his preparations until the end of the season. As it is we will never know how things would have panned out and we are where we are. The sad thing is though that within 4 months? we have desecrated everything that we have been trying to build on and are back to pre Bielsa levels.
