Who the **** said john bishop! he's funny as ****! as for ricky gervais on an idiot abroad and the ricky gervais show he's good! Half the crew on mock the week apart from dara o brian and frankie boyle when he was on there are all ****.
I can't stand any comedian who shouts and/or raises his voice to let you know when you are supposed to laugh. There are loads of them. Past ones include Tommy Trinder and Frankie Howard and currently there is the Scottish chap with a beard (very popular but I can't stand him). I prefer the dry ones (eg Jack Dee and there is a Welsh chap who is quite amusing).
Irish comedians are ****e - like Premier League management for some ****ed up reason the Glaswegians do it best. Ricky Gervais is bloody awful. I loved the original Office so gave him plenty of time to present me something funny - he must be funny after all so many people like him!?? He's ****e - and Carl Pilkington is just some tosser who's party trick is to grump at every single situation presented to him (and it's even worse when they keep cutting to that prick Gervais with his god awful laugh and the white background - ****e). Michael McIntyre - he's England's answer to the fact they have nobody funny from their country. I can hardly speak as the best we can offer is probably Dara O'Brien (****e) but I can't lay off England since they have such a larger population of human beings to possibly find someone entertaining. Only **** worse than McIntyre is Lee Evans. If you find either of these people funny then you are probably into the same humour as my 7 year old child, Harry Hillesque bollocks. Apart from Glasgwegians if you want to find funny people then the Aussies do it well. Not sure in the science of it, but a funny accent and a bit of ****ed up deprived humour seems to be the order of the day for true wit. Obviously Women are not funny - it's a mental one that you don't even realise until you think about it, you simply will not know a female who makes you properly laugh unless you have somewhat cynical motives such as looking into her knickers.
Comedy is difficult to achieve - Mostly through lack of originality - Far too much is contrived ( especially U S comedy) and subject matters are so weak that far too much swearing is needed by a lot of comedians to try to sound funny - a bit like GC !
Jack Dee is one of the bast English stand ups, he had to ruin it by making that god awful sit com though
Alan Carr with out a doubt. Lee Evans. (if only sweating was funny) Russell Howard. Never even made me smile.
Anyone scottish. Cant understand the ****ers half the time. Irish and Welsh are just as bad In fact, anyone not English are ****
I quite like Victoria Wood but in general agree that most females don't do comedy. I hate Russel Brand - he's about as funny as finding out that Maggie Thatcher is actually your granny - and there's a God awful scouse bloke who appears on the Beeb on a Saturday night but his name escapes me for now. Yet another in a long line of Liverpudlians who believe that everyone form Merseydside is a comedian. Before the death threats roll in I'd better balance that by saying I think Alexei sayle is a genius.
Actually, Joan Rivers is quite funny but she's not your archetypal female comedienne. Some of the older comedians are quite funny. Well Tommy Cooper. I like Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Stewart Lee and Kevin Bridges is funny too. I've never heard of anyone funny from Bristol and I've been to Bristol.
