https://www.skysports.com/football/...rds-for-sides-with-historic-success-in-europe Keep trying until the little guys just give up the fight by the looks of it. I know it's not likely to affect us for at least a year or two but what an absolute farce of a sport we have on our hands if two teams, vying for the same trophy could end up with massively different rewards at the end of it. Still think it's an absolute shame The Premier League and others didn't boot the so called, self appointed "big clubs" out of their domestic league and current European competitions when they had the chance. Sadly even the governing bodies only really care about money and exposure.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63334283 Here we go again! The sooner the "big" clubs bugger off the better in my book. Be interesting to see how many of them tell the organisers they are not interested at any price!! I'm not holding my breath on that.
It occurs to me that elite football generates huge amounts of money. So, if they want a Super League then let them do it and get each country involved to impose a Super Tax on the club's and the players involved. Might go some way for governments to ease their economic crises. Yeah, I know. My usual idealistic crap but I'm struggling with the greed when so many can't afford basics.
I still fail to see how a Europe-wide big league does it? Fans will be bankrupt travelling every other week or teams will play away without support. Not hugely interesting it seems to me.
That's just it... Even with the previously proposed super League, they worked out they didn't need fans to attend, it was still lucrative enough from TV money and sponsor money to make it "viable". I daresay what they hadn't really considered is as a TV spectacle, if you only have one set of fans or half empty stadia then it's all a little drab and lacks atmosphere. It will happen at some point, I have no doubt. Then it'll evolve to a "World League" as the US and China will want a slice of the action.
