PROJECT FEAR WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG. Downbeat predictions by the Treasury and others on economic consequences of leaving the EU..have turned out to be overwhelmingly correct.underestimated both the calamitous loss of international standing and the scale of the damage. This is the considered opinion from today's Daily Telegraph believe it or not. I am not sure what they will be saying about Rees-Mogg and friends who still think that all is going well.
" the calamitous loss of international standing" That's all they are worried about - image. They couldn't give too hoots about what happens to real people.
"Just seen Tory whips manhandling a crying Tory MP into their lobby for fracking. You couldn’t make this toxic stuff up, nasty to see the Tories at work, if this is how they treat their MPs spare a thought for the country." Is this really what democracy in the UK has come down to? The Tory MPs were elected on a manifesto commitment in 2019 to ban fracking. How can the population at large have any trust in what they say?

Looks like either Sleekit Sunak or Bumbling BoJo. But at least we'll all be spared the horrors of a week-long leadership campaign on all TV channels and in all press.
Once again John Crace hits it on the head with his sketch. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...lf-librium-liz-re-embraces-her-own-mediocrity
Apologies for the language in this, but I think this German newsreader is simply trying to convey the seriousness of the situation...
