Good Morning. It's Thursday 20th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Ferdinand - Leeds will 'be alright' this season Former Leeds and England defender Rio Ferdinand believes Leeds have enough talent in the squad to finish above the bottom three this season if Sunday's performance was anything to go by. Speaking on the 'FIVE podcast', the 43yo claimed that Arsenal should not have beaten the Whites on Sunday, and you need an element of luck, something sadly lacking at Elland Road. "I'll give you [Arsenal] praise, you win a game you maybe shouldn't. Leeds I thought, if they continue the way they are then they'll be alright." "They showed a lot of good signs but you need an element of luck and you need your keeper to play well in those situations as well." "At the same time if I'm an Arsenal player in that dressing room, I had many times where you win a game and you think you're lucky to get away with that, it's another tick in the box and it's a game Arsenal would have lost two or three nil in years gone by." "I'm sure the debrief on Monday will have been 'Guys we didn't play well, there's a few things we need to iron out and I ain't happy about this, but the best thing about that is we would have lost that before and we didn't.' "They're making moves in the right direction and I think that's where Arsenal football club are moving in the right direction." please log in to view this image Struijk injury torment Leeds will be without the services of Pascal Struijk as the Whites go in search of their first win of the season, this evening at the King Power Stadium. The 23yo has been in fantastic form this term, topping the 'Whoscored' ratings, but is set to miss, both the Leicester and Fulham six pointers after picking up a knock. Marsch has confirmed that Junior Firpo is fit, and will take his place. After missing out, for a place on the bench against Arsenal, Wilfred Gnonto will travel with the rest of the Leeds squad for tonight's crunch game. please log in to view this image Marsch is too open and honest During a recent segment in the Sun newspaper, former player, now pundit Paul Robinson has labelled Jesse Marsch as being too open and honest, which is having a detrimental effect on Leeds performances this season. According to Robbo, the Leeds gaffer 'criticises other teams every week for breaking up play, slowing the game down and upsetting Leeds’ rhythm', then acts surprised when their next opponents do exactly the same thing. “Jesse is infectious but at times he’s too open and honest." “He seems to criticise other teams every week for breaking up play, slowing the game down and upsetting Leeds’ rhythm." “He moans about it every game and then he’s surprised that the next opponents do the same thing!” “He’s earned himself time after keeping Leeds in the Premier League but over time it will tell if it was the right decision to bring him in. “Jesse did what he was brought in to do last year but it’s only going to be a matter of time before noises are made. “Bournemouth and Fulham were two of the three favourites to go down but look at the way they’ve started. “Leeds were also in that potential relegation group at the start of the season, and the nearer they slip towards it the more trouble they’re going to get in. “He’s going to have to get results." “They’ve got the team and personnel to cause problems, like they did against Chelsea and Arsenal last Sunday “They’ve done it at times during games but he’s struggling to get that type of performance every week against sides not in the top six.” please log in to view this image
Good morning and what does Robinson know. Brighton away and Rodrigo takes the wrong option and tries his luck instead of putting it in the box. Palace game we failed to make the most of our good play. Arsenal the players failed again to take the chances. None of this is jesses fault. How can Bamford insist on taking a penalty and yet be full of nerves. The failure to win more games this season is with skint rads. Everyone knows come January player prices shoot up. There must be hundreds of players around the world better up front than Bamford. If he sores tonight then so what as he has done nothing all last season and this.
Disgraceful Robinson, very disappointed you have stooped to this level to publish a strip of drivel in the Sun!!!! Pffft the fkg Sun of all papers, stay away from Elland Rd your not welcome anymore. As for the penalty, I am fed up of hearing about it, let’s move on and give festa a good thumping tonight.
Morning all. As always I couldn't care less what any pundit has to say positive or negative. Its only an opinion and based on a lot less knowledge of Leeds than most of us have who watch every game. Wakey comments are correct and its bordering on unbelievable that Radz and Orta aren't being held accountable for so many inept transfer windows. Did the club hand out rose tinted glasses to all the fans and I missed out. Anyway, lets grab these six points available this week and we can all relax again
They are accountable… to the shareholders. We are Customers, that concept seems to confuse you. Oh, and the rose tinted glasses will likely be on special offer at the end of the season so you can pick some up then
They originally said they were mere custodians of the club and praised the fans and the great history. That speech obviously confused me. Bring along a. Pair of yours Sunday will ya
If you had asked earlier I could have posted them to you. Can’t get a ticket because the Customer’s are voting with their feet Actually, couldn’t go even if I could get a ticket, currently enjoying the “glorious” weather on the Costa del Suffolk (it is torrential ). Going to have to go to a lovely restaurant again for lunch. Calves liver and bacon today I think and a bottle of 1997 Musar
Yes along with the 4th kit that's just come out if you catch my drift. I think one of those would suit you Frank.
