Bruno and Tripps are huge personalities, makes such a difference from a year ago without them. We can be meh like today, but those guys still lift the team.
Another interesting stat. Everton had 1 shot. All game. And it was off target. Has that ever happened in a premier league game?
Everton were awful, diving around all game. We gave them a bit of hope in the second half and I hope Howe picks up on that cos it seems to creep in all to often for me where we drop off and sit back and lose that intensity. We’ll have a tougher game at the weekend so maybe we just decided to go into limp mode and leave plenty in the tank for Spurs. Risky regardless but Everton were ****ing clueless for most of the game which the stats quite rightly show. Just need spurs to get summit out of this game with Man Utd and we’ll finish the midweek round in 5th place…UNBELIEVABLE JEFF!!
It certainly wasn't pretty to watch, but that's partly about how Everton play - all fast paced, frustrating niggly fouls (some downright nasty fouls) and diving. We defended well. A bit more quality and it would have been a comfortable win. We could easily have had 3 or 4 on another day. When we get to the point where Murphy and Longstaff are not starting regularly then we'll look good.
Im quite excited to see what he can do with Anderson. Imagine when we start bringing our youth through too and he gets to work with them.
If you hadn't spent the night face down in a ditch then you would know that someone else had already thought of that.
Lampards post match comments are laughable man. 21 shots versus 1 and he goes we didnt really threaten them
Gordon is just a skinny Clare Balding wannabe but doesn't get the same amount of fanny she does. The end.
So soon after some moments in the first half, I was a bit shocked how we stopped dominating the game. We gave them a chance of getting something out of a one-sided match! The second half was rather nerve wracking. Something went a bit wrong with our midfield. Maybe tiredness after the Man U game affected our play. Thankfully the defence once again were the saviours.
