On the bright side, last time we rattled city, we won the league.

I’m with Mito on this; City are like spoilt kids who are used to getting everything they want. It’s pathetic.

not one mention of what city fans actually did has been mentiond in main stream media.

A bbc hack can talk in and actually ask klopp if he is a xenophobic racist, but....

    no mention

    upload_2022-10-19_14-14-13.jpeg

nths was done in a numbr of areas on sunday and they chanted murders.

but thats not mentioned at all.... yet press hacks somehow tur up wih a list of questions. like as if they were paid to do so.

I mean, no-one likes to lose but **** me, how desperate can they get? They'll be claiming we assassinated Diana next.
    Talk about sore losers.
The irony is as they'll most likely go on to win the league and we'll have to fight tooth and nail for a top 4 finish.
Come on City, you were beaten fair and square - get over it.

we’ve seen their lack of class before, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. English football need more teams nibbling at their heels tbh, for the last few years it been only us….and we cannot compete in a sustained way, in transition, we have clearly dropped away.

If we cannot win it this season, I hope the Gooners can do it…..I wonder how Pep would talk about his old mate then, after selling him some decent players. No doubt that he’d moan like a bitch about something….

This is because their ownership and FFP failures have been highlighted again.

Everyone knows they have broken the rules and have inflated deals, the only reasons they didn't get sanctioned was because it was time-bared and because UEFA are afraid to dig into it properly.

Refs make mistakes. I think the majority of them actually do a fantastic job considering they're human and can only see so much at a time.

When they make mistakes, it sucks, but I've seen very few cases where they deserved to be ripped apart- even if it can mean the wrong result.

its only a matter of time before one gets found out for match fixing imo. Big money and bribery is rife in the governing bodies, why would they be any different?

there was a great podcast with a former ref where he all but admitted it was rife "on the continent" when he was off doing European matches.

Its well worth a listen cos its just a hilarious ****er but it just goes to show.

I'm very very sure some refs have been got at to just do enough to ensure right results. friendly decisions etc.

Its not like there has not been well used practices in italy and spain for example to pay teams bonuses when they play your rivals etc.

indeed, it only takes a few subtle decisions given unfairly for a team to make a difference. Missing a save that should lead to a corner, perhaps….missing multiple fouls on someone like Salah or giving no cards when they should be issued….small things that if given enough, will tip the balance. Remind you of anything? <whistle>

As you said on sunday cancelo stuck his hand out and blocked the ball down when robbo was running past in the 44th minute on a break. no card, not even a discussion on it. As clear a pro foul as you'd ever see. the ref blew it up ok but its basically stopped a break so its actually rewarding foul play to allow that hand ball and a free after city all get back.

same stuff with fernandinho. seems to be an unwritten rule that he could make about 6 or 7 fouls before a yellow.

It was the same with scholes. he looked a **** player in europe cos he couldn't tackle and he'd be on a yellow all the time and got a few red as well but in england, he was untouchable and let away with murder

Its now the same for saint harry. he can dive anywhere or throwo in a 2 footed challenge with impunity with refs.

Which team(s) was it in Italy who got caught match fixing? They had like a decade worth of titles taken away from them, instantly relegated and started the next season on -20 points?

It could happen here, but I'd hope we would have an equal or stronger response if it did.

Bribing and fixing games is a dangerous game to play. And all it takes is one ref with a sense of decency to report it.

If it can happen in pro basketball in the US, it can happen in football. Especially as many things can be twisted….look at the foul on Fab for the goal….everyone with half a brain understands why that was cancelled but look at Pep’s reaction. I’m convinced that the ref would not have given that if VAR hasn’t said that he’d better look at it….

Klopp has denied that his pre match comments were xenophobic. This is some serious allegation. What did he actually say?

he said that their was no spending ceiling tor 3 clubs in the world and we could never be able to compete. That City already have the best squad on the league and if they decide they want the best striker, they can get him. We cannot.

Am paraphrasing but that’s about it.

This is entirely correct. It's nothing to do with liverpool, it's all to do with their sports washing efforts

If anyone dares mention that it may not be completely above board, the flim flam and misdirection goes full bore.

I've said before, it would be a major coup for it to be uncovered but who wants to piss off the Saudis.

Been reading few bits about it today and was really confused as couldn’t see anywhere he mentioned about bloody foreigners or anything that could be seen as such.

Saying there are 3 clubs in world football with no spending limits isn’t in anyway xenophobic and god knows whose idea it was to use those words towards klopp.

I'm wan't even sure who the three clubs he was referring to were. Man City was obviously one of them but I thought of PSG second and then wondered which third was out of Barca or Real. Guessing the third was Newcastle then?
