That may or may not be a good argument for a back four, but if Acun/Tan is the one making it then it clearly would constitute some involvement in picking the team. I don't want to be mistaken for someone who is critical of Acun. I love the guy, but objectively I do find it hard to believe, based on available evidence that he hasn't at all tried to influence team selection.
NT ... Acun has the biggest global media company which is netting him much more than HCAFC. ... Acun is hands on because its his dream, but I suspect that throughout his business career, he has made mistakes likely some howlers and learnt from them. Thats why he is where he is. No one in business gets it right all the time...!!!
he didn't buy the club becasue he wanted to make hull city fans feel better let's just be realistic let's hope it's a win win for both him and the fans
Think Paul Waite scored for us? Didn't it also go to extra time? Watched it in the Golf Centre on National Avenue, the place was packed, remember Trogg and his missus being present. It was a big deal at the time seeing City live on the telly and I also think it was another 20 years before we actually won a game on the telly. Jon Parkin v Wednesday or Leeds? at home was a rarity, sure someone, no doubt, will remind how rare (or special) that was.
It just looks to me like we're being run under a continental style 'head coach' system as we were under Ehab as opposed to a traditional English 'manager' style system which is becoming a minority for most clubs even in England now. It's a fallacy that old skool chairman didn't ever influence selection and recruitment though. Especially when things weren't going well. They've always held the power to remove a coach or gaffer that they disagree with and they've always been ultimately responsible for the output on the pitch.
That’s all well and good, however I don’t think Smith & Nephew have ever gone bust, leaving their creditors in the brown stuff, on the other hand…
No owner ever did. He almost certainly wants to build an asset by adding value though - which would be a win win if he's successful, so why not wish him success?
Football is a unique business. You don’t need to spend loads to be successful. He’s gone for that approach and we are paying the price for it
im not unwishing him success, i'm just saying don't put him on some pedastal he should be under scrutiny and rightly, he's the current custodian of the football club
He is under scrutiny. Has been most of his life. There is a difference however between basing said scrutiny on supposition as opposed to fact.
We really haven't spent loads though in footballing terms. We just don't look like we have gotten value ( so far )
i've not said anything about him so called picking the team or of the like although.. if tufan starts tonight.. there should be fury!
