Don't be fooled, the triplelock on pensions is safe. So the news going around is that Hunt feels all the news around his mini budget changes is far too negative and he's not getting enough credit. So he's put out the feelers the government may be getting rid of the triple lock, getting ministers to go out on press briefings for the next 10 days to sow those doubts. Then in his fiscal plan statement on 31st Oct to make a big deal of how "the government has listened, it's going to fulfill its commitment to the triple lock" so they get the plaudits. This is how cynical and desperate these clowns are to claim a win ffs.
I'm sorry but this is bollocks. Starmer has significant limitations but under a Truss, far right regime, we will see the UK's departure from the ECHR, joining Russia as the only other nation to do so, see a bonfire of people's human rights and employment protections, the privatisation of the NHS, the persecution of the weakest members of society specifically to reward the richest and a rise in social division and unrest. There's no magic wand to repair the deep problems wrought on this country post-war, but further movement to the right will only make things far worse. We need a non-Tory government, PR and long-term, consistent policy making and implementation for ALL OF SOCIETY. Without it, my children's future is ****ed beyond any words to describe it.
I think you give the Tories far too much credit in that post, but this statement is just plain wrong. Starmer, Davey, Lucas or Blackford are all infinitely more capable and more stable than Truss - or any other current member of the Government, come to that.
For no reason whatsoever, I decided to quickly check what his majority was at the last election ...hmm, now I wonder why somebody with a majority of 8817 would want to be able to say "I saved your pensions" come the next election? Especially since that was down from the 21,590 majority he had in 2017
Meanwhile, let's see how Italy is doing under that new leader Truss couldn't congratulate fast enough...
Just in time for the mass protests to start! If you didn't already know you were living in a Police State, you do now! WTAF has happened to the UK? (Rhetorical question)
You'd think that they'd be attempting to hoover up Tory voters all over the place. They're definitely not getting their message out there, for some reason.
