It's amazing how proud the Tories are that each new leader, Hunt this time, has been brought in to clear up the previous mess ... ... the fact that the keep creating the mess seems irrelevant to them. Hunt is now proudly 'calming the markets' by taking money off what they obviously see as the lower orders. I'm half expecting Truss to lose the rest of her plot today and go ... ... it's pointless having her there when the cabinet regard her as a daft embarressment at best. She walked into the Commons yesterday looking like she'd just been to the headmaster's office.
RICHARD LITTLEJOHN: Not even Wallace and Gromit can save Tories now https://mol.im/a/11325507 via https://dailym.ai/android This guy makes me laugh and it should put a smile on your faces this morning
She'd lost her tongue apparently... Think it's been mentioned she went to see Brady head of the 1922 committee to discuss the future
I feel for her, I said a couple of weeks ago that she is on the verge of a breakdown and irrespective of politics no one deserves that. She is getting stick from all quarters and no doubt the main protagonists are in her own party. Westminster is a hive of bullying and harassment and I would imagine the rod won’t be spared just because she is Prime Minister.
Putting yourself into that job is like being the England manager ... ... you know you're on a hiding to nothing. I don't think, for a second, that she believed she had the attributes, backing and gravitas to do a great job. She wanted the title, her place in history and the prestige of being Prime Minister ... ... her ego has cost us dearly, no sympathy whatsoever tbh. I'd guess her own sympathies are with Liz Truss, not those who are struggling to keep warm and fed.
I have no sympathy for her Smug, whatever she is going through is of her own making, but I do recognise the signs of a breakdown and she should be removed from office immediately for the good of us all. The damage her and Kwarteng have inflicted will effect us all for years to come but mental health issues manifest in many ways and as a ex-manager of people for many years, I recognise the flags and know the actions I would take to prevent any further damage. She is a perfect example of the Dunning–Kruger effect, too stupid to know she is stupid
Good post mate, and I'd agree with it all. Yes she's been swept along with the idea of being top Tory but looked terrified as soon as she got the job ... even before tbh. It reminds me of road rage people, on Youtube, who jump up and down outside someone's car ... ... then their arses completely drop when some monster steps out. I believe the decision to send her off home has already been made, it's just the mechanism to be worked out. Her walk into the Commons yesterday was absolutely tragic tbh.
Hunt has said he cannot guarantee the triple-lock, its on the table. If that goes I'd worry for all our pensions. Wallace says he'll quit if they cut the spending on defence. However the tories are still looking after the Banker's removing their bonuses cap... but for the rest of us there is no confidence, creditability or stability in the markets. We are goosed...
Bankers bonuses is a PR own goal. Whether it is a real cash issue I dont know. Banks seemingly have not lobbied for it, and some are suggesting it may be counter productive for them. Bigger bonuses encourage bigger risk taking, which was a problem previously. Banks have their own investors and governance boards to satisfy this is a good thing. Plus any real term impact is not imminent as companies cannot just change salary schemes overnight, I read somewhere that some major banks are unable to implement, this should they want to, until 2025. Like I say a complete PR own goal whilst we are in a cost of living crisis.
