Disagree! We discussed this at the match as we watched it unfold. It was far more fluid than that. Aaronson moved back to the 4-3-3 when we were defending, & forward in a 4-2-3-1 when attacking. TBF, this was the first half. We didn't discuss in the second, probably because I can't remember us habing to defend very much. What also became clear in the first half is Rodrigo's pathetic approach to pressing or tackling back. He hasn't changed.
Yes WJ you are 100% correct that of the midfield 3 only Aaronson pushed forward to assist our attacks first half. However as soon as we lost possession he immediately retreated to make line of three which countered Arsenal's tactic of Odegaard and Xhaka taking up wide midfield positions. Second half just Roca and Adams were the screen and it worked beautifully, apart from the most important part of sticking the ball in the back of the net. Jesse's best match as our coach so far.
