And the ref was a ****ing disgrace, I’m sure everybody is up for allowing the game to flow and ignoring players just throwing themselves to the floor at any contact or defenders flopping when they’re facing their own goal and in trouble - but you can’t just ignore plain and obvious fouls <doh>

why Sky are obsessed with the Fabinho foul i don't know as the following is more relevant despite no officials being bothered

A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with the hand(s) when:

  • the ball is between the hands or between the hand and any surface (e.g. ground, own body) or by touching it with any part of the hands or arms except if the ball rebounds from the goalkeeper or the goalkeeper has made a save
  • holding the ball in the outstretched open hand

This is the thing. They said oh I don’t think Alisson had full control. Doesn’t matter, he had 2 hands in the ball and Haaland tackle took it out of his hand.

Given last year one was disallowed when schemiechel had just put a hand on top of thr ball against the ground for about 1/2 second before it got kicked in, that was disallowed.

thats the one
i couldn't remember who it was but his hand just barely touched the ball and it was called a foul based on the rule i quoted so todays has to be without a doubt .

I said he didn't have full control too but having seen the rules on it, I'll change my mind. Is this how it feels to be Liz Truss...?

Exactly, he would have had full control if
It hadn’t been kicked out of his hands!

My immediate reaction was no that won’t stand, the fact it actually would have if it weren’t for the foul in the build up is shocking

Interesting that sky haven’t even looked at the foul and mentioned it prior to the red for klopp. Lots of praise for the ref but he was atrocious.

Don’t get the praise for him. Not giving the correct decision doesn’t make you brave. We all want physical challenges, those tough 50/50s where players smash into each other, or shoulder barge etc.

but pulling players back, climbing on players back, kicking through the back of them, giving goal kicks instead of corners, that’s not letting the game flow. That’s just getting the decisions wrong.
Forgetting the bias of todays game - if you were to trace back - I have always said Taylor is the worst ref
And today was like a collection of his greatest hits
He tries to let a game flow but loses control of it
I am not saying he is bias against us
I am saying he is a terrible ref
Always has been
Always will be
