Tufan looked down and upset because the Turkiye head coach Stefan Kuntz attended the match this afternoon to see how Tufan and Sinik were doing in the Championship. Sadly not a good day for either of them.
Not Dawson’s fault but Acun needs to get a permanent manager in now. Don’t have time to wait until the World Cup
Acun won't be arsed anymore once his dream has gone sour, and we'll be in deep **** financially having overspent on this season's dross
Hull caretaker Andy Dawson told BBC Radio Humberside: "We started the second half terribly and conceded a poor goal and then we just didn't respond. "We didn't show any resilience or fight and I said to the players that this league is relentless and you have to keep fighting. I saw a team in Birmingham who did that and that is what we need to get better at. "The first half was the best we'd played in a long time but we gave a disappointing goal away. We had some fantastic chances from crosses, so I had to give the boys credit for the first half. "The second half was messy and we've got to be better. People started to do their own thing when you have to keep believing in what you're doing." Birmingham boss John Eustace told BBC WM: "Obviously I'm delighted with victory and I thought the performance was outstanding with and without the ball today. "These are a really good team and they've got some great individuals. We knew how difficult this game was going to be and we showed great character. (On Juninho Bacuna) "I think his goal summed up his performance today. We asked him to play out of position but I didn't have any problems putting him there and he scored a special goal. "It's a long season and nobody is getting carried away. We just want to be competitive and give ourselves an opportuniy in every game."
Our problems are many... * Too many players brought in from inferior leagues to the Championship ie Turkey and Greece.....Tufan, Pelkas, Sinik * Seri....who played in a Fulham side last season who kept most of their premier league squad. Making him better than he is. He looks poor and can't be arsed. * Woods and Christie.... journeymen who don't provide much. * Loan players who don't look anything special. Any better from what we already had in the building? * Losing the 'they shall not pass', heart on the sleeve type players...Honeyman, Smallwood. * Lack of a leader in the Ashbee mould. * Defensive players who are just not good enough at this level. Other than that everything is great......
recall him putting in a run and hitting a sweet cross field ball from left to right which came to zero when Christie lost it...Other than that. Not enough time.
So today we had all of our available "quality" players on the pitch (Pelkas, Oscar, Tufan, Seri, Sinik) and yet we still lost. 1. We were the better team 1st half (apart from the penalty - WTF was Greaves doing?) 2. We were pretty abject 2nd half. Soon as the 2nd goal went in heads dropped. 3. Did Brum have better players than us? Debatable, but they wanted it more - and that is unacceptable IMO. If you lose, go down fighting. 4. Booing Woods when he came on and touched the ball not acceptable. Okay he's not the greatest and he's taken the place of many people's favourite, but he's wearing Black and Amber and doing his best 5. Andy Dawson is not the answer to our managerial search 6. Anyone care to guess where our next 3 points is coming from? Cos I just can't see at ATM
Plenty of effort early doors but once again basic mistakes killed us against a good physical side who themselves have struggled for years. Couldn’t see the pen clearly from W11 but to be fair the better side won and worryingly wanted it more. Daws hauled off some of the apathy and showed names or reputations mean f’ck all which I applauded second half but our bench is threadbare and he alone cannot unpick all knots created these past few months. Enjoying a pint…f’kin need it after that. Over to you Acun.
I'm really not sure it's the players that are the issue ( at least not fully ) they have no leadership on or off the pitch or training ground. They have nobody giving the team an identity, a playing philosophy nor something as straightforward as direction. For me the issue isn't the squad ( yes there's bits missing but I always said it would take 3 windows ) we are missing a coach/manager and their set up. Someone who can motivate, man manage but also be the bad guy and demand a certain level of effort and performance. Untill that is addressed then it doesn't matter how good/bad the individuals in the squad are imo. There's obviously a whole different conversation that could easily be had about the players taking personal responsibility etc. But with nothing above them and around them bringing it all together. It's just not going to work Dare I say it....I feel grant would be doing much better with this squad then shota/daws have done this season
..I couldn't understand what and who the boos were aimed at. Other than didn't one of theirs go off at the same time...ie No8. The lad with the wild ginger barnet?
I reckon something's happened with Greaves, he's been a shadow of last season's player. Pissed off because he didn't get a big money move? Shown to be not as good as he thought he was because he's been under more pressure? I don't know, but he's part of our defensive problem now. Oh, and he's still a crap header of the ball.
