Positives: Win, clean sheet, Kane scored a penalty after missing one, the second half. Negatives: Starting Richarlison injured, the dogshit officials, the first half. How much do we have to pay to get rid of the newly-bald Paul Tierney? ****ing **** and openly biased. Did and said nothing about time-wasting until we took the lead. Instantly jumped on Doherty for moving a throw-in slightly. **** off.
I thought this at the time, but when you are there you think oh well he is much closer than me, but it turns out I could see better from Row 67 than Tierney from a couple of yards who'd of thought it!
Passmap time please log in to view this image Once again this is looking pretty similar to the maps from late last season, especially between defence and midfield as the ball is being pinged around at will That being said, the data is skewed by the fact that we went 352 early in the second half, hence Hojbjerg looks out of position as Bissouma coming on changed his position. Similar can be said with Perisic, as his map looks good for 352 but not so much 343 The fact we're routinely getting the ball to Son, with Davies, Bentancur and Perisic all finding him clearly makes the difference, while it has to be said we were getting it to Richarlison comfortably enough before he went off Meanwhile, Everton's map makes it clear just how much we had them locked down please log in to view this image When Pickford is responsible for most of their goalscoring opportunities while Iwobi is practically playing at RB underlines just how little threat they made, which the xG plot makes even more obvious please log in to view this image But sure, we're not tryng to create anything...
Richy out for a while Kulu not ready This will probably force Conte’s hand…however, if Moura starts…then we better get used to 2 starters in midfield forever
With the Kings Rd FC kid definitely out, Bonzo + Richarlison in the balance etc, those PL players who are WC 2022 starting XI are going to get more and more anxious about playing now.
I think Conte would prefer to start Perisic over Moura at the moment. He's spent most of his career as a winger anyway, plus it would give us more options. I'd prefer the switch to 5-3-2, but even then our central midfield pairing can't play every match.
I think xG is bollocks, but they didn't create a thing after the break yesterday. Resorted to just hoofing it at the end, which Sanchez mainly dealt with easily.
The passmap holds this out, as it has Pickford down as the creator of the highest number of their goalscoring opportunities
