Beloved Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane has passed away aged 72, his agent has confirmed. The Harry Potter, James Bond and Cracker star passed away in hospital near his home in Larbert, Scotland. The award-winning actor had been in ill health for the past two years. Coltrane, the larger than life comic star, memorably played Hogwarts gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter series. He enjoyed huge popularity off the back of the role as half giant-half wizard. Coltrane memorably conquered TV screens as forensic psychologist Dr Edward ‘Fitz’ Coltrane in TV murder drama Cracker, for which he won three consecutive BAFTA best actor prizes, an honour only equalled by one other actor, Michael Gambon.
Sad news he was great in everything he did. My favourite was definitely Cracker fantastic series. I'll probably re watch them again. RIP big man.
Never seen any Harry Potter films in full , just not a fan . But as Fitz he was a Cracker in a cracking series . Panhandle !
Showed off his comic talents in one of the best Blackadder episodes. Sounds like he was a good bloke that had to battle some demons along the way. RIP Robbie

"This writing eventually became three books about his life, his problems, anecdotes accrued through meeting many international artists while working with MGMM music video company, and scattered throughout, many of his ascerbic poems and well-crafted drawings." He said Stevie had styled his name from David Bowie's song Rock and Roll Suicide, not from any desire for it to end in the ironic way it had, adding: "Rock on StevieZe - King of Noize." Stevie was last featured in The Press in the summer, when he told how he liked to shock people with his latest hairdo - half startling pink and half platinum blond, with a long fringe dangling over his face. He said that when he was recently at York Hospital - getting his foot examined for possible damage from half a century of stepping vigorously on drum pedals -a group of nurses came up and asked for selfies. He quipped: "As David Bowie said to me, 'the future belongs to those who can hear it coming,' and yes, I can just see where I'm going."
