We're at the stage where creators and producers feel that diversity is more important than quality, which helps nobody in the end. Combine it with the culture of complete self obsession and it's a toxic mix. In the world of movies and TV, for example, producers and showrunners behaved awfully towards people because they wanted their show to be the absolute best it could be. Doesn't excuse the behaviour, but in removing that we've replaced it with the idea that any criticism is unacceptable behaviour, so the standards get worse and worse because nobody dares tell anyone else their work isn't good enough. It bleeds over into all walks of life. If you ask someone to do the job they're paid for to the standard that's expected you could be bullying them. It's life of Reilly time for all the lazy bastards and ****ehawks.
