I remember us thumping Maribor in the CL a few years back after a pretty indifferent start to the season. They were poor opposition but it served as a platform that season from which we improved. Hopefully this match will do the same.

Scoring goals hasn't really been the issue this season, conceding them has. I didn't see the game, but we still conceded first and it sounds like Rangers had other decent chances that a better team might put away. So beyond a welcome confidence boost for Mo, is it really a systematic improvement?

Really pleased with the score and overall not a bad performance. An experimental lineup showed up the lack of the usual chemistry between players that we've become accustomed to with instinctive passes from a few, particularly Fabinho, to players who weren't there.

Did I see at one point an offside call from a long goal kick by Alisson? Linesman flagged immediately and I couldn't see any other infringement.

Rio going crazy in the studio for their goal was odd. Was he doing it for the Rangers fans who were in proximity? Thought it was completely OTT.
