They're all running around freely at the moment. If only there was a way we could give them the sack ..
For the second day running the Bank of England has been forced to intervene in the markets to prevent Government bonds being sold off in a fire sale. People have already seen their pension funds shrinking, and some of the fund managers are worried that some funds could collapse altogether. Nothing like this has been seen since the disaster of the Barber budget under Ted Heath. This government clearly has learnt nothing from those days as they pursue a similar policy. The country cannot afford to have people playing at economics when they don't understand the effects of a budget. It took time for the Barber budget to unravel, but that was before instant trading took place by pressing a button on a computer. There will have to be a lot of policy reversal to undo the damage currently happening.
they are doing this deliberately, it benefits gamblers ( hedge fund managers, who will no doubt find a way to reward these turds ) while the vast majority of people lose ( suckers in their view ) why people still vote for these creatures is frankly a puzzle , almost a state version of stockholm syndrome , shows how effective control of media ( propaganda) can become . still , could have had corbyn eh ......?
America sneezed and we caught a cold, as usual. Except this cold was based on a particularly nasty orange strain: everything from hunting, health, environment, finance, taxation, food quality... They led then Cameron (the catalyst for everything we see happening today in Britain) May (an absolute failure at HS), de Spaffle (a shyster's shyster) and now Thick Lizzy all followed. There is absolutely no way that Corbyn and an entire army of Abbott's could possibly have so monumentally f*****d this country over the way the tories have. It is just not possible.
i was being sarcastic about corbyn , how different things would have been , but he was hung out by the establishment, including his so called labour colleagues, starmer will make v little difference , another neo liberal stooge
From the BMJ - some research into the sex differences in UK austerity-related health effects. The most disturbing thing for me is "Approximately 335 000 more deaths occurred between 2012 and 2019 than was expected based on previous trends" - given that many voters in England seem happy to keep voting them in, that surely means that the Conservatives truly are 'the party to die for'? https://jech.bmj.com/content/early/2022/09/26/jech-2022-219645
You may be onto something here BB Apparently the Tories received twice as much in legacy payments from dead supporters in 2018 than they received in membership fees from live members.
Bloody hell. But surely if a lot of those who died were Tories, they ain't voting next time? That would be an impressive postal vote.
It sounds as though the Tory MPs have turned on Truss after just four weeks. They didn't want her, but the party members voted her in. It was very odd to think that if I had donated £25 to party funds, as a non-resident I could have had a vote.
And it grates to think that, if she is dumped and leaves politics, she gets a lifetime annual stipend of £115,00.
Don't bank on that - in one particular constituency plenty of dead people voted No in the 2014 Scottish referendum.
And in addition to his MP's salary, and his ex-PM's stipend, Johnson has just picked up $150,000 for an after dinner speech to American insurers.
A very apt line - "The higher a monkey climbs, the more you can see its arse." It also speaks volumes about those who voted her to the top - the general public recognised that Truss was little more than a monkey, why couldn't they? https://theconversation.com/liz-truss-is-now-a-case-study-in-poor-leadership-192554

A rather amazing admission - or deliberate lie? - by her too, that she has shared hers with friends and family. As far as I'm aware, it's still illegal to do that. As Truss has also proven, that's what happens when an idiot is appointed to a position beyond his/her capabilities.
