The downfall of the forum

Syd actually admitted yesterday I think it was that you did indeed ask him to remove it, to stop it coming up again. I must be wrong

 

I was determined to stay quiet today but how can I. Its this sort of crap that is killing this forum, I said yesterday I deleted the thread to stop a new war, note I. Cest has never PM'd me to complain about anyone, ever.

I'm off now for the night, it seems english to me but hey, dont let the truth spoil things. I am mad as **** right now about how some so called adults are destroying this forum with stupid games mate. Time a few grew up or found a childrens version.

 

This is a forum dedicated to Sunderland Football Club but Syd has always defended the rights of supporters of others clubs to join in the discussion. However, only occasionally do we see posts from clubs situated outside the North East but we are regularly inundated with posts from Newcastle supporters, sadly many of them mainly aimed at winding up those Sunderland supporters who they know will rise to the bait. In fairness I have to say that we Sunderland supporters are not totally innocent of the same thing. I'm quite happy to name those who I feel are out of order as well as those who I consider bring excellent debate and humour to the forum but I feel that action would potentially create further agro for Syd. I'm not ducking the issue and if asked to I will post the names.

I've had numerous chats with Syd when we meet up at home games in the East Stand and this forum is talked about. I've mentioned in the past that we should ban all but Sunderland supporters but Syd is totally against that action on the grounds that the forum would be worse off in doing so. I can see the point he makes but I think that the time has come to go public with my thoughts as this place is rapidly going down hill. There is little pleasure in logging in to read post after post of childish bickering and and name calling from both sides. I have many friends who support Newcastle and we frequently enjoy banter and appreciation of the otheers team and prospects but without stupidity entering the conversation.

I appeal to everyone who visits here to consider what they are going to write before comitting it to a post and to try to understand the other point of view as well as the highs and lows of our respective league position or current success/failure. We can all still enjoy banter but not mindless obcenities disguised as asteriscs.

Name the names, good and bad please. But if someone wants a forum for Sunderland only fans, they're on the wrong website. I'm against telling people they should leave, but this is an open forum and as such anyone against that idea shouldn't be here. It's like buying a house next to an old monument (or some other object, I couldn't think of anything else then complaining and wanting it taken down, even though people who were already residents like it. You shouldn't have bought the house in the first place.
