Re Pedro many of us are hoping that the notion of a U turn is true. But given that Baz says that is not the case after having been assured by the club; then unless we believe there is a conspiracy to deceive then we might be chasing something that is not going to happen. I fear it’s that.
This is classic bookies making money! We are miles away...but they convinced you to out 100s on in last 24hrs
I think I am more disappointed that we won’t see this actually play out without the effect of the Wolves job to see if the ITK in here were right or not. Guess we’ll never know.
*newsflash* there is no itk just what someone has been told, or not told from someone with some sort of connection - for whatever reason. Informed speculation. Nothing more, nothing less unless you're Chazz who has to deal in playground politics cos that's all he understands.
Maybe Acun was counting on the Wolves job going to Lopetegui, and then having another go at Martin's, who knows? But that ship seems to have sailed now one suspect. He really needs to get someone in sharpish, or else this bad run could become a real problem.
Unless Acun starts to take a back seat more and leave the coaching/management to the people that know what they are doing we are going to struggle to attract anyone. That's the reason it's broken down twice now ( acun wanting to much say on footballing matters )
He is a big micro manager from what I've heard about him. For the most part, that's worked out well and the staff speak very highly of him. I haven't heard any complaints from anybody, but I imagine any prospective manager will not want telling what to do in the dressing room or have players picked for him. I think it's a case of "I have been a success with everything, this will be no different." And I think Acun is quickly learning that football isn't plug and play in terms of success, there's a lot more to a football club than just buying big name players.
I think they should issue fans with raffle tickets and draw the winning ticket from a tombola machine on the centre circle. Winning ticket is the manager.
Predicting the name of the new gaffer is like trying to predict the winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National, before the runners and riders have been declared.
Generally speaking, football owners lose money. I don't see anything wrong in having an owner who craves success. Put yourself in his place. Your manager loses 4 games on the trot, gives you no confidence that he can inspire the players to perform to their potential, and you have no confidence in the tactics he is persisting with. I don't see anything wrong with Acun questioning team selection, and team tactics under those circumstances. I don't think he would be interfering if the team were getting success on the pitch
He interfered by signing the players to begin with. Let's not pretend this interference/micro-managing was a recent thing.
