This is sort of linked to my other thread "Can someone explain?". Having seen some of the replies it prompted me to ask another question. In a period when so many countries are in the **** financially is there a danger that some wealthy countries may see an opportunity to "Rule the World" so to speak. For example it doesn't look as though GB could withstand a serious attack at the moment and the whole of Europe seems in similar trouble. Are we vulnerable?
We're not signed up to the Euro at the moment so that gives us a bit of security. It also depends if we can avoid the double-dip recession.
China already rules the world. They own Europe, they practically own the USA, have the largest population and army. Apparantly their average IQ is 20pts higher than the rest of the world and while almost all the rest of the world is in a downturn financially they are having a boom. Time to learn mandarin boys, I predict in 15-20 years time this forum will have been converted to it.
So if China ruled the world with their largest army that means that North Korea is the second strongest country in the world yes? they are having a boom because the cheap imitation **** they make is selling more than real stuff.
The bit were you said that no one would dare attack the UK? I think that is very naive to say the least. The IRA attacked the UK thousands of times and many members slipped over to America and only one person was ever extradited. America will do as they please. They only entered WW2 because they were attacked. The UK had been attacked by Germany for years and America couldn't give a ****. Countries will look after their own interests and nothing else.
No, North Korea doesnt have the financial strength or technology China has, their nuclear program isnt functional wheras China's is. North Korea has a large army but thats it, China has a well trained, well equipped army.
Serious attack, not a relatively small one. I was thinking more of an invasion rather than a one off attack.
In fairness then, Germany attacking the UK in WW2 was pretty major. America will look after themselves if that time ever comes. America has many different constituies(sp) to cater for. Hence them not extraditing Irish people to the UK. The situation is a lot more complex than the UK and America being bessie mates.
I can see the Seychelles attacking us. So can we use the illegals and scots as cannon fodder, or will I have to save the day?
Irrelevant. A war on the scale I think the OP is talking about would be a nuclear one and therefore literally no one would win. And even if it wasn't China currently has no way to project it's force at the moment.
