Nothing wrong with it. I stand by it

If the Saudi's hadn't have bought Newcastle plenty of our supporters wouldn't have the same feelings.

Didn't realise we had so many bitter supporters, tbh.

It's easy to make these statements when you don't actually go to the games and don't actually care about the club.

Those of us who go to support the team, mix with other supporters and have the club in our heart can't shrug things off so easily.

Well you would never have seen me go again if Bin Salman had kidnapped us. And that would apply if he left after a couple of years. The Club would be permanently tainted.

That is what that lot are. Permanently tainted, and all the more so because of the slavering, fawning and desperately needy behaviour of almost all of their fans.

They have disgraced themselves and that can never be put right.

I've had the pleasure of meeting you and you are, like a hundred I know personally, a totally decent lad I'd put mesel out for.

I've met no Sunderland supporter who'd accept a murderous state as owner even if they guaranteed the title and the CL cup.

As a support we're quite a decent bunch and not the shallow hypocrites at NUFC ...

... 'Magpie' is the perfect name for them, selfish scavengers only interested in anything shiny no matter who they have to deceive, including themselves.

How gullible and shallow would you have to be to take shiny trophies ahead of dignity ...

... we've met and I have every respect for you, that would diminish if I thought you'd happily take blood money to buy a Cup tbh.

That's a very good point mate.

As you know I'm now at the point whereby I'm trying to influence my grandchildren rather than my chikdren.

I try to show them that self respect, kindness to others and tolerance is paramount ...

... how could I align that with abandoning every principle I hold for the reflected glory of seeing a bunch of Saudis buy a trophy for me in their quest to sportswash their state? Whatever they do it'll never match a bunch of daft lads bringing home the cup in 73 with a Geordie manager in a trilby.

I have wonderful close relatives, in the Derwent Valley, who've supported Newcastle since the forties.

One lass, Vera, went to Wembley, on the train alone, in 1955 as a seventeen year old. They've always been up for a heated discussion about our clubs. Recently they've gone quiet, despite their obvious progress, because they're a little ashamed. They've lived through the Spanish Civil War, when relatives went to fight for democracy, and saw Chopwell renamed 'Little Moscow' during a miners strike ....

... but they can't quite stomach a bunch of Arab tyrants completely taking over a decent little club in the far North East.

    I love them all.

I can safely say I would rather the approach we have now than their owners, In fact I'd rather enjoy what we are trying to do than have any super rich owner throwing hundreds of millions at us.

Top flight football is all about how much you can spend on the latest mercenary in a desperate attempt to break into the monopoly that is the top 6.

The Saudi owners will continue to throw money at them and the media seem to be relaxing their stance - the BBC had a news story about them making it the big 7 over the weekend and how great it is, no mention of the human rights issues etc.

No trophy or title is worth selling your soul for

"No trophy or title is worth selling your soul for."

Well it wasn't when Ashley was there but now Mags are saying it's not a problem ...

... some of these replies are nothing short of hilarious.

And despite some claiming the name is sacred very few seem to be able to include the apostrophe or get it in the right place if they have a stab at it <laugh>

I can remember when you were dealing with Saudi princes.

It's amazing what people will do for money.

The Amnesty International Stadium would be good ...

If they do this, it will be some virtue signalling attempt to try and and take attention away from their barbarity. God knows what it would be, but it will be embarrassing one way or the other.
