If their keeper hadn't tipped his 1st half shot over then it would have been another fantastic goal. He's definitely full of confidence under Howe.
It’s amazing what a good manager can do for a players confidence. The complete polar opposite to Bruce who is once again showing he isn’t that good a manager.
I guess that as long as we keep winning, the starting lineup will mostly keep their places. That's how Eddie rolls.
I think individually we have one or two really good players and of course that helps, but I can't emphasise enough it's our approach to the game that has drastically changed and that is what has caused our biggest improvement. Just look at our stats in the terms of possession, defending, attacking opportunities. We go at every match trying to control the game and beat our opponent, we never look happy with a draw or just an alright performance. We always aim to win. We haven't played this well in my time supporting Newcastle. Perhaps the top 5 season with Pardew but even that was counter attacking football reliant on individual skill. For context, me being my age, when I was old enough to understand the game we had ****ing Souness.
Agree with everything. My first memories for a manager was Keegan when we got promoted. I still have the pictures on my office wall.
When I was around 7 or 8 we had Robson and obviously we played well back then. But I mean, I was ****ing 7, I would watch the games be into it and all, but I was mostly thinking about hopping on my BMX and bombing about with my mates. edit: **** me I was even younger, I was 6 when Robson arrived.
I can't blame Burn for the penalty, they've ****ed around with the handball laws so much that quite frankly having his back to the player who heads the ball back onto his hand is a bit of a joke really, this whole thing about un-natural position of the arm is crap as well, it always used to be about intent of the player in the ref's mind.
Yeah that's my take. Burn didn't see or intend to touch the ball, so how can that be a penalty. There was one in the Arsenal game which wasn't awarded, so we call ourselves unlucky for that decision.
Yes I was looking at the Arsenal one and thinking what the hell, BBC Sport have a think about in on their football page but it seems all the pundits think Burn's was a pen, it's another thing that the revision of the rules/laws has made a mess of like offside.
I think it was a pen personally - no intent from Burn and super unlucky but his hands up and it re-directs the ball. The Arsenal one was a joke though, clear as you like, no debating that one - I mean Gabriel looks like he's doing the "walk like an Egyptian" dance ffs
Not really, considering one of us owns a .com and makes a living from it, and I haven't a ****ing clue what you do
I work in Security, mostly to do with Port security these days. Oil ships which come in and the like. Get a nice car to drive around in tho. And I have for the past few months done some bouncing actually, but that's mostly for a laugh as my company owns a subsidiary which deals with that stuff. It's alright change though for a bit of drama at the weekends.
