That's why just the stats are wrong though. It will be that prichard stats were the worst. He was our striker for 45 mins ffs. We have appropriate stikerks, prichard is class. If we have no strikers then fair enough, worth a drop. Shame though. Not his fault.
Always knew we’d miss Stewart if he got injured but we’re desperate currently. He’s huge for us and we need him back ASAP. I’m worried about the next few weeks…
Not like it's just this game he's been one of our weaker performers all season especially out of the senior players.
When we lose, loads.start finger pointing e.g . Mowbray and Speakman are ****. Couple of weeks ago it was fantastic to be a Sunderland fan etc. Agree we need another striker but it's not the end of the world getting beaten by one goal by an in form team.
Aye it's been a tough few games on paper and that's how it's turned out so I'm not exactly shocked. At least we've got a couple of points out of it. We aren't getting relegated and we've probably got a sterling January window lined up so I'm not worried.
cheers again RTB... late in this week as been a bit busy so apologies if i repeat anything here, no time to catch up yet. lousy first half i guess we all agreed on with a vastly improved 2nd half that i reckon we controlled for the first 30 minutes at least, they only really managed to get at us towards the end and we looked most likely to score but struggled to find a killer pass, and again the subs caused problems. i am starting to think we just do not have a 'focal point' right now, never seem to know where we need to pass the ball and that is the main thing we miss from LND, we have midfielders taking turns in the middle and we really need that main forward player. we are still playing some good stuff but need to take more care over our passing ad TM managed to change the game from being dominated to dominating which is no easy task away from home against an in form team, we won the 2nd half but i am getting sick of our players being first in the book for 50/50 challenges while it takes usually well into the 2nd half for one of the opposition to get booked yet they make similar/worse challenges time and again. still not been played off the park for 90 minutes and are holding our own in the main, not many would cope without two main strikers (i guess the same argument will have gone on but we have what we have and have to handle it) but we have to start getting back to basics and passing the ball better and have someone making the right runs.
We already know no striker will be signed because he might be stuck on the bench ! What a load of drivel what happens if Clarke or Roberts gets injured ? We needed cover in he summer but it never happened. Way short this team is Mowbray might do a McMcenemy on us, well we wait yet again as bring inexperienced players in is not the answer
If it had been just since we lost Sewart or Simms I would be sympathetic. He has been patchy for some time though for me. I really like him but when has he really made an impact as a 10 recently? His goals and assists just dont show up. Would love it if he stepped up and won the match next time up, but his form doesnt suggest it in my opinion, and for a more experienced player I think we should expect more from him.
On the point about 50/50 challenges and bookings I was at Morecambe yesterday v Ipswich, bottom v 2nd top and the Ref was awful but against the home team. He booked at least 5 Morecambe players for challenges that were no worse than what Ipswich were committing, on top of that he awarded 2 penalties to Ipswich which were very harsh, a typical bottom v top where nowt goes for the struggling team. Having lead and saving 1 penalty Morecambe lost 1-2. Sorry this is slightly off piest but highlights just how different/poor Refs are in all leagues.

One of those injuries where you think he'd strap it up and play on if he was our player, but Everton probably have the final say on injuries as part of the loan agreement
This afternoon I'll be mainly consoling myself with the knowledge that Bolton lost at Forest Green and Derby were beaten at home by Port Vale ... .... we're not where we want to be but at least we're not there.
made an attempt to catch up a little... can see both sides of some of the arguments, pritchard for some reason is looking below par by his own standards as well i would think, and he is not alone, going back to my own post i feel we just are not passing the ball well now with far too many 'fancy little flicks'...great when 2-0 up and full of confidence and less of a problem when they dont come off. pritchard could do with a break from the team as it is currently set up or we need a couple of runners for him to 'feed', we do seem to be going down a lot of blind alleys atm, now this is most likely down to injuries plus we have had LND there pretty much every league game for a good while and have fallen into a style of play and now struggling a bit to find other ways. we can throw blame around but had circumstances been a bit different i am sure the results would have been there, also as i previously said, to change game from being dominated to being the dominant side shows TM knows what he is doing and i am sure we will get there. we have good players in and around the team right now, let's not destroy them with negativity, performances in general have been above expected...we will be fine.
Honestly I see us at a bit of a hiatus, ie waiting to play with a full deck, when we get some strikers back. We were poor yesterday 1st half and didn't get going until 2nd half... good HT team talk? If we can continue picking up points...get a full squad back and a good January window then have a great 2nd half of the season The players we have brought in are good (tick for Speakman). I just do not see the need to bring in any old free contract strikers now and get lumbered with a poor player. Although Speakman should be honest in the gamble he made by not bringing in cover.
