I think if we have another performance v Preston such as that yesterday.....he could be toast.. We've gone from one step forward and now two steps back...with very much the same players.....he's either not getting through to them or his setup/tactics/coaching staff are getting it badly wrong....
I've never beem a critic of Nige but it's obvious things are not working out, I have no intention of becoming a doomster but when the major problem is obvious and never resolved it's the fault of the manager. Defence Nige is the problem, we all seem to know it but you, sort it out mate before the suits come to get you, don't make the mistakes Cotts made, adapt, create and demonstrate to us your experience and talent, if you have lost the desire to motivate then perhaps it's time to move on. I respect your history, the way you have improved our internal activities but a football team is judged and its success guided by results, yours are poor and inadequate, is it time for a change?
Or the players are not available because of injury. This sideways and backward stuff has to stop. It gives teams time to regroup-needs the front foot attacking football or are the current players unable to do it week in week out. someone summed it up on another forum If NP had the money LJ had and it was his team built with that money then we could question him but he has taken on players under previous management and some freebie’s. The squad is small and injuries are affecting the team sheet.
I actually don’t believe that mate. I recon even if he did have the money it wouldn’t be that much better or different. He has an arrogant way about him where anyone dare question his expertise and would rather show he could turn any naff team into champions.. I think he thinks he better than he actually is.. Sorry, we can’t blame our downfall on injuries , at this stage of the season, that’s a cop out.. That first half yesterday was an utter disgrace and is unacceptable.. the only positive is that he acknowledges we were awful and he has training and a game v Preston to sort it.. If we play the same, I will be after your “out” banners!! NB. I do actually quite like him and hope he sorts it out, but it’s getting to a point where I don’t think he has the energy or knowhow on how to go about it.. he will start to lose the fans and then it will be game over anyway..
other than DERBY the 3 late ones all made a loss Birmingham sold a player which drastically reduced their loss to single figures ...
I would have preferred an experienced manager when we appointed LJ , and had we taken that route I don’t think we’d be in the trouble we are now, but we are where we are, we need to have the best manager to deal with the situation we face now, I’m still behind NP at the moment. We’ve had a difficult period, in terms of the teams we’ve played recently, but we need to start winning games again soon.
there is some things you have to take into consideration ... When you see 2 poor teams "have a good game" or a top v lower one "have a good game because say the top one is on an off day" or vice versa! you need to look at the bigger picture ... take Norwich .... 4 H & 2A ... W W W W* D* L [ AWAY*] teams they played other than Reading all mid table or below .... so Reading........ .. 4 H 2 A OTHER THAN QPR and Reading at the time teams in lower positions W L W* W D L * [ Norwich QPR last 2 games! ... get the picture! well ... BCFC ..... 2H 4 A ....W L L L D* L* [ Home* ] Norwich/Burnley/QPR [ Blackburn in bad patch? ] .. GET THE PICTURE? ... When I stated have no faith in pundits ..[ a few weeks ago stating " dark team" of the season, be up there with the top 3 or 4! ] I dont they only see it on the day or in hindsight. BCFC IS ONLY A AVERAGE TEAM doing what average teams do, shine / glimmer / fade in erratic sometimes order. PNE is going to be a challenge had we played them 3 games ago then likely would have got a good result .. likely win/draw [ they were on a point a game from draws 0 - 0 mostly ] goals for were less than fingers on 1 hand but now hitting the purple patch! ......... the midweek game will put us a game in front until Nov 8th...... a loss midweek will make us look bad for 5 or 6 games!
Oh wiz's comment on defence .. said it since start of 21/22 season we have a structure of manager /assistant played in defence .. but not doing a good job ! mates rate type thing!... NP NEEDS TO GET IN AN ASSISTANT WHO IS A GOOD DEFENCE COACH
Just seen the goals. Bentley is poor with crosses. Watching Andy King defending set pieces is funny, we must be desperate to play him as a defender. Listening to NP it was only Alex Scott who played well. I thought our midfield looked weak yesterday and not surprised about the outcome especially with our players at the back. With the players available NP will go with a 3-5-2 on Wednesday. If they're fit I'd go with : Bentley Vyner, Martin and Atkinson. Sykes, Williams, James, Naismith, DaSilva. Wells and Conway.
Who’s to know, we could be worse. Coppell & Sod didn’t actually work out for us going forward, who’s to say NP would be any different? Sometimes it works but it’s no guarantee,? hence why the same old managers do the rounds when a vacancy is available.
I think he unsettled the side when he changed the starting line up Conway had done nothing wrong ... it casts doubts on NP integrity when he spouts do it do it well and "you are in" he has past [ bcfc] record of being short fused over players and spoiling it / them. Injured then get replaced and replacement excels then you need to fight your way back [ from subs bench ] ... there was a good team spirit at Norwich where the underdogs fought well as a tem without any worries. Problem is do it to one and who knows who may be next.. very unsettling ...
I’ve given this a bit of thought. Would we be biting off our nose to spite our face?, who would want to take us on in our present position?, I think the list would be short along with the quality. Is it NP’s fault or are we lacking quality, I get he’s been here a while, but has had to trim the squad drastically and on the whole use kids and bargain basement purchases. let’s hope he can turn our results around quickly because I’m not sure we’d be able to replace him with anyone decent.
I am not looking to get shot of Nige,in fact I really would like him to succeed, we have had a whole series of leaders down the gate, spent buckets of money on the stadium rebuild which has been fantastic, then we blew the lot on mass signings and sky high contracts, all history now and Nige has inherited and had to pick up the pieces, has he lost his mojo, will Landown be allowed or prepared to open the purse strings during the next window, will Gould be staying, I do believe the next couple of games could see some big changes of direction if we continue on the same highway. If we do need to replace who would be prepared to join us,I take your point would anybody decent be prepared to, here is the current list of management candidates that are being bandied available, anybody there? Chris Wilder Roy Keane - Sean Dyche Scott Parker Rob Edwards Mark Robins Anthony Barry Carlos Corberan Michael Carrick
I guess my point is I’d be surprised if anyone decent want to come here, remember when LJ left, we had to go for our 2nd in command , and to make matters worse it took 6 weeks to decide
do not replace the manager replace the defensive coaching staff ... a team need s a manager then 3 separate coach's at least defence/ attack/ midfield [ maybe 2 attack and defend ] we have a good attack ... however attackers seem to be in midfield / defence when better off up field when it gets tight [ or occassionally leading! ] Said it for yonks BCFC need a real defensive coach ...........
