He hardly ever has a good word to say no matter how well we play - the sad thing is he does or at least used to go to games.
Poor first half. Very good second half Stewart on the pitch we win. Ballard will help at the back but Need to work out how to create more in the mean time
I think you're being very generous suggesting we were very good in the second half. I don't recall us creating a clear-cut chance, even our goal was a half chance. They had more chances than us even on the counter. Us having more possession was in part to their own tactical decision to drop deeper and let us play in front of them.
Its undeniable we should have a minimum 3 champ level strikers, so we're 1 short. I'm gonna assume that Kyril, who is a lifelong football fan, will see that too. In my opinion, Speakman was bailed out in huge way by AN with the playoffs win. I dont think he (Speakman) did a great job last season, AN should take most of the credit for getting a tune out of the players he had. That said, we do have an exciting team that I love watching right now, and mowbray seems a decent fit. The striker situation is baffling though. Speakman will hopefully be judged the same as any manager would be. If the model is worth it's salt then his post should be 100% performance based and easily replaceable. I'd say we're doing okay so far, probably par for the course, but he must be held to account for the striker situation. It was a massive gamble, but, in general, I like risk takers, we'll see! January is HUGE for speakman. I still have us as play off challengers btw.
Can't agree with this at all. They both deserve credit. Batth, Cirkin, Evans, Pritchard, Roberts, Clarke and Stewart were all in that team last season. The squad we assembled should have been promoted, it didn't overachieve due to Neil.
Apologies, you didn't say you wanted him out, you just questioned him after 6 days, implied that he'd lost the game deliberately due to his allegiances and had a rant about him signing an autograph for a 5 year old girl. Much more reasonable.
It's going to be a frustrating few games while we wait for at least one fit striker to be in the team. The lack of backup argument is going to rumble on for some time but it's glaringly obvious we should have brought another in. Yeah it was very unlucky to lose both of ours but just for context every team in the top 10 of the Championship have at least 4 strikers, other than Burnley who have 3.
Good game gents. We won it in the first half as you didn't seem to be at the races. Second half you were much better and could have pulled it back but overall I think we deserved the win. Best of luck for the season
Personally I think it is jolly decent of us giving some of these lesser teams a start until we play our strikers and just mop up. Not nice having these injuries but its part & parcel of the game. I am sure the powers that be will be addressing this issue come January. All I wanted was consolidation this season and no chance of relegation. Anything better than that is a bonus. Definitely not concerned about where we are at the moment. That can change easy with a couple of wins and there is a long long way to go in this season yet.
Disagree thought we were ok second half. Better team but toothless They are a good team in form but we matched them second half like you say without creating much We are on a steep learning curve but think we are doing ok so far considering all our injuries Can’t win ‘em all but we are competitive.
If you are going to persist in turning out this level of garbage, see if you can get someone to show you how capital letters, full stops and comas work.
