I heard that in years gone by you could get a free drop from the tree roots, but that was stopped cos it was being abused!
Played Carlisle and Hexham at the weekend. Both really nice courses with some lovely holes. We were due to play silloth Friday but were rained off. Very disappointed as that was the one I really wanted to play having never played it.
Just come back from holiday and managed to sneak a round of golf in whilst there. I wish I hadn't, as it was probably the worst I'd ever played but I will blame the rented clubs ,
Hexham is lovely, I've played in the last couple of invitations up there. I've been terrible, each time I've played though.
Never played Hexham, but was a regular at Matfen Hall..love that course. Someone earlier mentioned Silloth in Cumbria....If you haven't played there, do it...amazing course, one of the best in the North
Silloth is meant to be amazing. My favourite course up here has to be Sharpley. The views are stunning, and the course always plays well (whenever I have played) and I highly recommend anyone on here to play it if they have not
Managed to sneak a cheeky corporate day at the Emirates Golf Club (Majilis Course) tomorrow...played it a few times always a treat, can't wait.
Got the local Willunga Open tomorrow. Been playing like crap the last few rounds so anythings possible
Thinking of changing my driver. My existing friver is a Callaway Launcher 2015 regular shaft 10° The pro's advice get a stiff shaft (har har) 9° Looking at Cobra Ldx? And Titliest RS2 The Cobra seems to have a slightly smaller shaft is that a good thing or a bad thing, I am 6ft 2ins. Any suggestions? Ps I also tried Taylormade Stealth...not great i thought. Went to American Golf at Sunderland and hit balls for 30 mins.
I'm still using a 2007 FT5, 9 degee loft stiff shaft. Way i've been playing lately i'd be better off just using my putter
American golf should run you through shaft & head options to suit you/ your swing At 6, 2” you probs need a longer shaft, but depends how long your arms are I got fitted for the Ping 425 LST, Tensei Orange 65Stiff shaft, size 4 golf pride grips. My previous driver was a dumb purchase. Basically, get fitted. It’s worth it
