I've had one year. I get another four. Younger people can always ask for a ten year or even longer mortgage. We need to stop feeding them this low rates forever, house prices will always rise, easy credit bullshit. Don't go in as deep as you possibly can, there's always risk involved.
The market was steadied by the BoE stating they will bail the government out to the tune of £65b, not daily actuals, you have read that but hope we all ignore the reason they had to make such a massive intervention was due to the incompetent tory government mini-budget
Not as naive as KK...Kwasi Kwarteng has been handed independent forecasts on the state of the UK finances that are expected to show a hole of more than £60bn left by his sweeping tax cuts and a sharply slowing growth outlook. At the end of a turbulent week for Liz Truss’ government, the chancellor was on Friday handed the initial predictions for the economy and public finances by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) which are likely to paint a gloomy picture. Sir Charlie Bean, a ex-member of the independent watchdog and a former Bank of England deputy governor, said the document would probably show a large shortfall for the exchequer. https://amp.theguardian.com/politic...ow-60bn-70bn-hole-after-kwartengs-mini-budget
That's just all Lefty propaganda and hyperbole mate ... .... we're actually living in a Utopian world of a thriving NHS, doctors appointments, ambulances showing up on the same day and police attending burglaries. There's growth, low taxes, jobs galore and a great optimism sweeeping the country. All of this unrest is caused by American bankers, Macron and Putin ... just ignore them and they'll go away.
I'm actually sick of the doctors ringing me asking if I'm OK, they've phoned a dozen times today, and there is an ambulance parked outside every house in the street 'just in case'. Fella next door was due to get burgled on Sunday but the cops have already lifted, charged and locked the perpetrator up. What a time to be alive. I'm getting a new job tomorrow, 'growing pies'. I've doubled my wage.
Reminds me of our Mam who was a pacifist ... ... she wouldn't let us have soldiers with our boiled eggs, we had to have diplomatic advisers
I know what you mean... I had a billionaire knock on my door yesterday who handed me a cheque for £1million, he said it was "trickle down" money to spend as I liked.
Truss is the ultimate chameleon ... ... changes parties, opinions and policies according to her surroundings and she's so flexible she can do u-turns in the blink of an eye.
You know, there is a middle ground between this view and the tories being evil for evil's sake Disney villains.
I'm surprised you can even see the middle from where you're standing tbh ... ... your defence of anything Tory seems automatic and instant. Anyway, it's match day, much more important.
Wanting to discuss and understand why things happen and why decisions are made isn't 'automatic defence', man. Unlike screeching 'evil' at everything you don't like, which is very Pavlovian.
You're seeing what you want to see tbh. It's so myopic I think you're only doing it to be a wum. Anyway, you won't listen, no matter what's said, so I'll leave it there.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-63187793 More sleaze in the Tory government? Or do we believe his unnamed "allies" that it was medication that made him behave in the way he did, but also that he didn't even behave inappropriately anyway and he's the real victim?
