Apparently so. He’s done a lot of good to reverse damage the Allams did to the fan base, but he’s left a lot to be desired on the playing side so far. The management appointment will be telling…
Has he? Apart from hiring Shota things have been pretty good. A much needed thickening of the squad with mostly signings that are better than what we have/had.
I was definitely thinking that whilst he believed in Acuns vision and infectiousness, he would have been happy with the stadium, the majority of the playing staff, the training facilities would have been an absolute shocker for him.
the more top level managers always have backroom staff they want which massively increases the wage requirements still reckon he will end up at wolves which as a neutral you can see why wolves is a much more exciting prospect than city simply due to being pl now
Considering the wage increase and where we currently are that isn’t true. Last season we finished 19th with a bottom 3 wage budget. This season we probably have a top 8 budget and
and...we are 12 games in to the season having had a crazy amount of injuries and a manager that wasn't very good. I guess by your logic if we had this discussion 3 games in to the season it would have been true?
people won't live in there or even visit apart from matchdays, the city itself is completely irrelevant to footballers and managers
I heard he was signed up until he was told he was in charge of Aqua aerobics at the forthcoming hi de hi extravaganza.
The centre doesn’t look any worse than Hull or a host of other cities. Except for Middlesbrough of course.
If I was a betting man, which I aint or I'd be skint ! I'd lump on the training facilities being the thing Pedro wanted to sort straight away, given what it would probably cost, that would eat considerably into Acuns plans for team strengthening.. or that could probably be a load of shyte and he just didn't fancy us right now !
Well that’s a bit of a disappointment he ticked all the boxes for me. Although in practice may well have been a bust, we can only check that somewhat by seeing how he does with his next appointment. As for Andy D it’s another crapshoot but may well be that he gets a new manager bounce like similar appointments, including some at City. Phelan comes to mind. If we are now going for someone else as opposed to Dawson I like the idea of Bielsa, he is without a job and has the Championship experience that many on this forum crave for. Appears to focus on fitness and looking at coaching as an all encompassing endeavor-fitness tactics skills diet and the relationship of the players to the fans and world outside of playing football for a living. If it’s Bielsa I look fwd to another walk across to Barton on the Bridge a la Brownie.
