All very quick apparently. Diagnosis to death was a few days. Very sad to go so early (from someone 3 years younger)
More and more whispers about a new deal for the gaffer. Some suggesting we’re gonna offer him a two year contract, conflicting values range from around £17m a year to £20m. Some foreign sources also claim he’ll be given around €200m in transfers over those two years - promising signs.
...and the Wail are saying Conte is off back to Italy Luckily they haven't lost any credibility in the last couple of months with their choice of Tory leader or anything
It's like listening to dumb and dumber ffs. Jordan..."you've said there will be a power struggle" Souness..."you're putting words in my mouth" Jordan..."it's in your column " Souness..."I didn't write the headline" Jordan..."it's in the actual column" Souness..."Those aren't my words" Jordan... "so you don't write your own column?" Jordan..."spurs aren't a big club...they've won 3 fa cups in 60 years!" Great point ...apart from its 5 FA Cups in 60 years, plus 4 league Cups, plus 1 Eurpean Cup Winners Cup and 2 UEFa cups...
It has been and continues to be some ride. Last night was a big result. If we're in talks with Harry Kane about a new contract, staying in the CL won't hurt any. Like many, I'm frustrated by the first half performances, especially against better sides, where staging a come back in the second half is far less likely. However, he's making all the right noises about committing himself to the club over a number of seasons and in partnership with Paratici, I'm keen to see where he can take us. It seems pretty obvious that he's been fishing for further financial commitments from DL and will only sign an extended deal if he gets them...which I think he will. Until then, I'm going to back him, no matter what. At some point we have to commit to giving a coach the time to build something and unlike the last 2 incumbents, Conte has the look of someone who could get us to win something...hopefully?
It would help if he tries not to celebrate the moment by having his teams currently play the worst of Jose/Nuno ball.
He’s been making it incredibly hard to back him, even if I really want to. Not sure why he’s made/ making so many poor decisions after being brilliant last season. Has a better and bigger squad, more subs to utilise, had more time with the players due to a full pre-season yet it feels like the players are having to overcompensate for poor first half tactics and bail him out. A good few look like they’re close to breaking as well due to his poor squad management, my heart stopped a little when Bentancur was holding his hammy. Hopefully post-World Cup we’ll see the proper Conte back - and a few additions for him to further work with soon after.
Whether there is "method in the madness" or not, with WC 2022 so very close now we have to bite our lips as best we can for the remaining 3 games (and we shall see how much Conte has got away with) . Once the dust has settled on WC 2022 (the physical state of Spurs players etc) , then we will soon see what Conte has learned and what dogma he has purged.
I agree...but I'm going with it. Next season, if we can find a RWB like Destiny Udogie, a ball playing CB, a Kulusevski alternative and a goalkeeper who can use his feet better than Hugo, we could be in business. Until then, I grant that it might not be very pretty.
