The only ovation Truss got was when she stood there desperately trying to think of a decent comeback ...

... it was all going well until she opened her mouth.

Possibly the closest he's ever been to a woman who wasn't a close relative.

the reason i rarely watch such things...i just get angry at the complete lack of understanding these MP's show, those tories actually believe they are doing the poor a favour by effectively forcing them to look for a 'better' job despite the fact that these jobs are needed and people will be thrown into more poverty until this magical much better paid job comes along, there are also many who did not get a higher education (many reasons for this) so those higher paid jobs will not be offered to them.

on a side note, i could punch that mogg until all my knuckles were broken beyond repair, a truly ignorant person who considers himself above others.

True, but consider that we've now moved from MortgageGeddon for everyone to affecting only those who must remortgage now and must only need a two or five year deal, plus the minority who are on a variable rate.

We're now into 'every decision is bad luck for someone' territory.

It's almost as if the public are so desperately thick they'd never be able to work out that a higher paid job might make them better off <doh>

Thanks heavens we have politicians capable of thinking outside the box.

BoE reporting the government mini-budget led to a move in guilt deals by 29 units, 3 times bigger than ever seen before, which destabilised the financial system to the extent that the pension schemes nearly fell over...hence their £65b package to calm the markets. Unfortunately there are 1.8m people about to remortgage next year and their options are looking bleak.

As I showed above, you're in the trap if a two or five year mortgage are your only options. If they're not, and I'd argue that if not then you've had nearly 15 years worth of historically cheap mortgage repayment rates so I can't feel too bad for you, decent rates can still be found.

How much of the 65bn has been spent so far?

Electing these brain dead bullshitters is akin to leaving a 3 year old alone at home and giving them a box of matches to play with <laugh>

Can they not even see that if someone’s on a salary of x and there’s a job that they’re capable and qualified for paying 2x, they’d already be doing it ?

I must admit to being caught unawares of how stupid Liz Truss really is. I was up to speed on the stupidity of the likes of Nadine Dorries and the repugnant Jacob Rees Mogg, but Truss has given us another moron to watch have their ignorance exposed to the British public. Give her just enough rope....

You don't have to try to resurrect the thread, it's still trundling along quite nicely. It's just that you've got 75 percent of the contributors on ignore just for disagreeing with you.

Same as the lorry drivers. Governments have always relied on the 'you wouldn't dare' factor when it comes to critical services. They won't be out for long until they get what they want.
