This is one high profile scalp we can take, Our record against Liverpool is pretty good and we have the players and the skill to get something from this game. Man city, Chelsea and arsenal have all admitted that we gave as good as we got and that we will get better with every game. the players are up for this and don't be surprised if we don't come away with at least a point...

Well done Scott, great thread again as usual, I wonder how many 'Plastic Swansea boys' will be in the Kop, supporting Liverpool, I know a few, Anyway I'm going for a 2-1 win to the Swans, though it's likely to be a draw, some of the lads down the pub think we will ship up to 5 goals against the Reds, but needless to say I don't share that view with those of little faith. I don't see Liverpool as a tough game, the way it was with Man City, or Chelsea, and I think we can definitely get a result at Anfield, Liverpool's defence is not the best, and I can't wait to see how their back line will struggle against Dyer, and Sinclair on the Wings, as for Carroll, well having seen him, completely marked out of the game at the Liberty, With Newcastle last season, I'm not worried, but we will have to make sure that Suarez is kept quite though, I see him as a definite threat, anyway again 2-1 to the Mighty Swans!...............

Just remind me again - when was the last time Swansea visited Anfield in the league? Your record counts for nothing. If you want a point then you're going to have to earn it and probably like Norwich feel lucky that you got that!

    3-0 win I think.

There's an old saying about engaging brain before opening your mouth! Just toddle-off and consult the stats about our defensive record this season. Whilst you're at it have a look at the number of chances per game that Liverpool create - it's you're own defence that you should be worried about.

As for belittleing Liverpool fans who live in and around Swansea, I think you'll find that they have one of the oldest Supporters Clubs. But who could blame born and bred Swansea lads giving their alliegence to a great club like Liverpool rather than a small parochial side.

Foredeck: I take issue with the 'small parochial side' jibe, but you're right about DPJ's silly post. He was rubbishing Chelsea before we lost to them too. Anyone who says they don't see Liverpool at Anfield as a tough game is brain dead. End of.

I think some of our fans need reminding of how far we've come and try - just a bit - to keep their feet on the ground instead of making daft comments. It's cringeworthy.

Of course we can get something, and I'd love us to, but it's not a question of faith. It's a question of realism. Liverpool odds on, and I'd take a point right now, as would most sensible Swans fans.

I love it when these middle of the road teams assume they are going to win <laugh> are they in for a reality check or what my fellow jacks. they don't know us so i hope that Kenny will have a word with the big clubs who we have played already or they will be in for a huge shock...<laugh>

Apologies for the jibe - I just got a little too incensed and rose to the bait.

As for keeping your feet on the ground - never! It's an eternal element of football that something magic can happen (a la Instanbul). From what I've seen you've got a tidy outfit at Swansea and I expect a good game.

There's an awlful lot of crow going to be choked on around 5 pm on Sat. We have nothing to lose .... "they" on the other hand ... will clearly not be walking alone into defeat.

I think you'll find that both the club and the fans don't take anything for granted.

Let's face it, Liverpool at Anfield is a tough, tough game and getting anything from it will be a huge ask. If we get a point I will be dancing for the rest of the weekend.

BUT, and there's always a but in football, if the Liverpool team stroll out and think that the game will be as much of a foregone conclusion as some of their fans, they might well get their own butt kicked.

Player for player, Liverpool have the quality and the experience and, with home advantage, they should win this game by at least two clear. I'm hoping that they will take us lightly because that is our best chance. However, I don't think that will happen and I'm prepared for a loss on this one. I won't mind that providing we don't lie down and give it to them just because they are Liverpool. If we play our game, give of our best, I'll settle for that (this time) so long as we bank the experience and learn from it.

So, yes, I expect a Liverpool win but the question is, could the Swans actually get a result? Well, stranger things have happened and, if we really play at our best, we just might surprise a few people. Looking forward to it.
