    Arbritrary dear Watson. We won.

    We actually ****ing won.

I mean, how did that happen with all the mistakes and incompetence in recruitment?

A refreshing performance and much better than of late. Considering they had the best away record in the league, we made them look quite ordinary. Great credit to Daws for getting it right.

Like most, was a bit bemused at the starting eleven, but I have to say it worked. Tufan in a deeper role was excellent, and Christie on the right ahead of Coyle, who was excellent, gave him much-needed protection and also allowed him to get forward, hence the cross for the first goal which was perfect, though Pelkas did well to get it on target and passed the keeper.

Both Jones and Greaves looked more assured than in recent games, and Elder was also very good. It was noticeable also that there weren't many passes backwards, which under Shota slowed play down and gave the opposition time to get set.

Oscar also had a good game, his hold up play was very good and he took his goal well, though credit to the player (Tufan) who made a run towards the near post, which took one of their players away from the middle of the box and created space.

Sinik looks as if he is a good player when he gets up to speed, along with Allahyar when he gets back we are going to have some pace out wide.

Overall a good night, Coyle was excellent as was Tufan, Sinik looks a real player and Pelkas getting his goal will give him confidence. Christie was also very good and looks to have a good understanding with Coyle. Onwards and upwards, looking forward to Sunday, and let's hope we can break the Sky kiss of death.

We signed Peacock from Sheffield’s FC, he did score on his debut, I think the game finished 1-1, but can’t remember who it was against, but I think I was there. I’m sure if I rummaged through my old programmes I’d find the answer.

I thought Wigan looked super fit and lean especially Kean , it improved their mobility and on the right side they got to nearly every channel ball and had men around it . We so often leave the man with the ball on his own . I’m nitpicking we deserved the win . Las point they seemed to know exactly what type of ball to put in the danger area not sure we do but we’ll get better .

Forget about set ups and who played well etc.... Jones ditched the Alice band and had his hair cut.... just need Greaves to do the same!!!

Finally seen the highlights, Oscars goal was fantastic, we haven't had a forward that can use his body to out muscle the defender and create himself the space to get a powerful header off like that in years! If anyone had any doubts about his quality, that goal just proves how good he is

Miles better than the previous three. Whoever takes over the reins has something to work with, though we're still lightweight at the central two, and require a midfield grinder. But onwards and upwards to Uddersfelt with a modicum of confidence and renewed vigor.

It was late for me :D

But it felt like a clean sheet Wigan didn't offer that much. Missed the first goal anyway so it wasn't in my mind I guess, I still haven't seen it yet.

Ok I'll say the second half was clean sheet .

Just another thing, it didn't feel like Seri was missed. And if I see him near the back he needs to get it forward quicker and not mess around, like we've started to see from the others under Dawson. Hopefully Dawson doesn't just leave us for good players seem to respect him.

I really don't get what it is that you are reading into my posts!!
I do have more than a modicum of faith. I've been posting repeatedly that Acun will get it right etc etc.
Let me try to make it simple. All I guess I was saying was that I didn't think Wigan were very good, especially given their surprising away record, and that we were better than we have been.

Looking at the highlights, looks like Keane was offside when he scored.

I didn't feel Sheffield United were that talented (and they are still top). They simply beat us by being fitter, harder working and better organised.

Plays every game like it’s his last. Really leaves his imprint on defenders too. Got the South American fire but hasn’t brought the gamesmanship that most of them bring too which I like. Proper number 9 and a serious coup in terms of finding him. 8 figures if we don’t go up this season…

Anyone else pick up on Tufan pulling out of a couple of challenges. I get that's not his game, but I'm pretty sure people would be up in arms about it if the score was different.

I'm not convinced we will always be able to afford him that luxury.
