Appleton theBlackpool manager did a job on us again as he did when he was at Lincoln , I am of the opinion that the current players we have available may be better suited to playing away from home as they will get more space . We are on the fringe of the play offs which is probably well above most fans expectations were and going back a couple of seasons I think we would probably have lost both of the last two matches . We are a resilient side that is difficult to beat and if can stay in touch until we start getting players back on the pitch it is not beyond the realms of possibility that we can continue to kick on this season .

It's clearly obvious too and why opposing teams have stopped the doubling up. Also why my pressure if on the right hand side and Gooch has looked.****e last 2 games in comparison.

Sent them any strikers mate? I get the impression that some people think that's what we need.

I thought Mowbray made a lot of sense and it was a good interview, He's clearly gutted about it but has analysed players performances an the way the team played. I think we're going to get it right more times than we get it wrong with him in charge and the talent we have.

A few of my thoughts on the game tonight and I haven't read the whole thread so I may be repeating stuff or going completely against the grain.

Pattio impressed me he made some vital saves.
Alese I think is excellent and great going forward as well as defending. Really surprised how far forward he was at times.
Gooch is a good player and wears his heart on his sleeve but he still has too many mistakes in him whether was some needless fouling early on.
Clarke needs to vary it more and make some runs down the outside instead of always cutting in. He also needs to stop messing around with his shorts constantly.
We are too ponderous in front of goal and need a killer instinct.
The ref was really really bad.
A bigger change is needed in the starting line up to give teams a surprise.
Some of the subs came on too late to change anything.
The second half we didn't look for the forward pass enough.
All in all a frustrating night but we're a good team and going on the right direction.
Can't wait to get Ross back.

Not as tedious as you whining because someone doesn't agree with you, get over it man.

It's obvious going into season with only 2 strikers was a gamble, and right now we're suffering. That is a fact and annoying as it was likely to happen. That's not to say the recruitment generally hasn't been excellent, because it looks largely impressive to me. Lots of positives, but an obvious high risk strategy that could have been mitigated, but wasn't.

No offence @Chunksafc , love your avatar

That subs bench is weak. wern't average we are dropping away gooch was awful this is like 2 seasons ago going for a draw. the fact that Mowbray has said he will not get another striker in because he might be on the bench is a joke, we always needed cover for Stewart and Simms them last night are not the answer, so this season will fade out with these owners manager Klopp/Pep in by next week.

I dont think Neil is that type of player at all to be fair. In my opinion he is an out and out deep lying playmaker. Pritchard, Embleton, Diallo, Bennette, Roberts, Clarke all are the ones that need to bring the midfield goal threat in my opinion. Neils job is to make us play from the back and into the final 3rd.

Gooch absolutely boils my piss at times. The Gooch that ****s and farts about on the ball is a waste of shirt at times. The Gooch who keeps things simple is a cracking player. You'd have thought he'd have learned by now. The last two or three games we've seen the former.

I tend to think Cirkin is our best player, although we are now seeing Stewart is probably the most important. Cirkin in my opinion is already playing to top half premier league standards. His passing is quality, he can see the game really well. He has imrpoved his positional awareness no end as well, and has always been a good 1 on 1 defender - he is very strong. As good as Alese is he doesnt have that calmness or cleverness on the ball Cirkin has just yet.

I tend to agree with you on the striker front. 2 is too few. What I dont know is how hard we tried after missing out on Broadhead, or whether we should have done more to get Broadhead back. I wouldnt advocate signing a 3rd striker if they didnt think they could make an impact. My view is Simms was a punt and we should have brought another in to counter that, but like I say Broadhead would have been perfect.

I tend to think we have made the same error with keepers too. Just that we havent had the injuries. 2 is 1 short in my opinion. Most clubs go with 3 these days.

As readers of this forum will know I also reckoned we needed at a minimum, 3 strikers. Broadhead would have been a good choice, cos he had different attributes to Stewart and Simms giving a variety of tactical options.

Although I am most definitely NOT in the know, I am assuming that efforts were made to bring Broadhead back which I also assume was tied up with money and Neil leaving. Efforts were also probably made to bring in other strikers but did not come to fruition.

Speakman did really really well bringing in some excellent players, so I do not casitgate him too strongly.

However his ego does not it seem allow him to admit he was after another striker but failed to land one. Which as politicians might say speaks to his character.

To me from thing said at the time by AN, it sounds like Broadhead was just about a done deal and they expected him to on a permanent deal. The lad the had a change of heart when he saw Simms hit the ground running.

As said why not say we were close our first choice striker and at last minute he changed his mind. We then ran our of time.
