0-0 0-0 Preston and Blackpool at home ? That's not good. Because we don't recruit effectively is impacting judgement
Playing where though? He looks like a left winger to me, but Clarke is pretty much my first name on the team sheet.
This lack of striker situation is taking the pish now. I've fractured a leg and a toe as a kid and I was back playing for my school footy team after 8 weeks. I've also severed the Ligament on the outside of my right ankle sprinting for a loose ball and running into a pothole on the pitch. Ballard, Stewart and Simms injuries dont make sense to me for the time they are missing? Any physios on here??
By the way - two clean sheets with Bath and O’Nien at CB, Gooch at RB, Alese at LB, Patto in goal. plenty of positives. Players all learning. Strikers missed (obviously).
We hit the bar and their keeper made a worldie!! We know we are missing a striker - we have 2 injured - you dont need to mention it all the time
Shame to draw, Stewart would have scored a hatful if he was fit. Speakman boo boys will have their moment but hey it's another clean sheet, top half of the championship and most importantly.... We're not going back to that ****ing god awful league 1
' Poor result, we have no striker and boy is it obvious They had lost the last 3 games, and only one win in seven We were lucky to get away with a draw We sometimes keep the ball just for the sake of itwith seemingly little purpose, it is really hard to watch sometimes The lads at the back have no one to try to pass to up front, we badly miss Stewart
So predictable - we have a bad result and you are straight on slagging the recruitment. The recruitment has been class - we just happen to have injuries to 2 strikers.
Bad luck and ****e refereeing aside, we would have won our last two games with a proper striker on the pitch. The failure to recruit another striker has cost us 4 points.
It's the difference between being right in the mix and drifting back towards the pack. It's not a disaster but a missed opportunity certainly. A 3rd striker is absolutely the main priority in January (well a 2nd choice with Simms dropping back). Dejaku and Amad as central strikers isn't working.
The recruitment would have made more sense if we’d been playing 4-2-3-1 from the season start. At that point a third striker less obvious. It’s because they were both starting it seems such a glaring error. I’d obviously have wanted a third striker mind and said so at the time.
So Benette on the right? I'm not against playing Clarke on the right occasionally, but it'll only work when we have Stewart back to benefit from his crossing.
