Lambert and Adkins on awards shortlist

NIGEL Adkins and Rickie Lambert have both been shortlisted for the npower Championship awards for October.

Oh dear, Adkins will get manager of the month this time!

 

Not sure either will win it. Lambert has only scored three times, whilst Nigel has only led to us to three wins from five games (I'm not saying "only" as if it's a bad thing, just probably not enough to win the awards).

But hey, not for the first time this season, it looks like we're going to get the best of both worlds. Player and manager nominated for the awards, but neither ultimately winning them and hence suffering from the jinx the following month.

 

For me it hasn't just been his goals that would make him player of the month. How many assists did he get in October!!!!!

 

Wouldn't be surprised if Freedman or Hughton got manager of the month if I'm honest. Although we are top of the form guide (and we played roughly 6 matches in October right?)

That is true actually. Whilst slightly short on goals, his all-round play going forward has been excellent this month.

 

Oh dear Brighton bottom of the form table! My heart bleeds for Poyet.

 

God dammit. I forgot that Watford just fell into October (seems so long ago, what with it being before an international break.

Suddenly four wins from six sounds a lot better than three wins from five. Slightly worried now!!!

 

But have you included Peterborough in that which was the start of November?

So I was right (albeit accidentally!!), it is three wins from five.

 

Easy mistake to make!

 

Don't worry, neither of them will win. We always get overlooked by these stupid awards.

 

Sorry to say but this time Adkins is a dead cert to win i would bet my wife on it.

 

Adkins could win the league, the FA cup, the Carling cup and the Champions League with 100% record and Lambert could score 70 goals in the season including 20 hatricks - and neither of them would get an award.

Instead, it would go to Middlesbrough for going 3 games unbeaten and Craig Mackail-Smith for scoring a header against Doncaster.

 

And if Nigel wins that lot, will we care?

 

hughton will win it, he played 5 won 4 drew 1 adkins played 5 won 3 drew 2. burke will probably win player of the month

 

Not quite true. We won some team of the month from the FA recently.
