You seem convinced you were right. “It's accurate, as it got challenged previously. The usual line is that they started in Leeds, which is true for the shop, but the partnership is from Wigan.”

I am convinced I'm correct, but that doesn't make the Leeds one wrong either, as they're pretty much different things.

I guarantee I won't lose a wink of sleep about it either way. :emoticon-0100-smile

And Kay Burley. Oh,and don’t forget the most successful ever RL team.
Wigan Athletic had a crowd of 27,52 against Hereford United in the FA Cuo, the highest ever crowd for a game between 2 non league teams at a non league ground.

And despite having the most successful RL club in the game is Wigan referred to locally as a 'rugby town?'

The game where it all comes together. Oscar back on form with a hat trick, Tufan plays a blinder, Greaves finally scores.

Don’t know but their fans have the same complaints about the bias of the local media that we do. Leeds RL are more successful than Leeds United but nobody in Leeds claims it is a rugby city.

I remember when Wigan played their first game in the top flight against Chelsea. The mayor was on TV saying they were looking forward to greeting away fans and that Wigan had more attention and publicity that week than it ever had (a bit different to Geraghty and his Hull is a sporting city, not only do we love rugby league but we love our darts and wrestling crap). We were starting a new season after gaining promotion and what did we have? A front page in the Fail carrying grim warnings from the police about them cracking down as there was more potential for trouble with more away fans arriving in Hull.

Similar for many grounds when you look at old photos and the record attendances. :emoticon-0100-smile

For those of you of a certain age Wigan always seemed to the rugby legend or should I have left a space leg end of Eddie Waring. Watching RL on the tv vase a kid the name Billy Boston seemed to be his favourite player.

Some more than others. After going to Bolton in early 1970s couldn’t believe they had over 50,000 in there a few years later.

I'd seriously consider setting up 4-5-1 to try and get a clean sheet. Yes, even at home.

I've got most editions of the long discontinued and excellent Aerofilms Guide Football Grounds, and it's amazing how grounds changed over just a few years. Springfield Park had only 1272 seats, immense though compared to Northampton Town's County Ground's 360! :emoticon-0100-smile
