1For '..surely those that lack concentration and communication should be either told in no uncertain terms or dropped'. In a perfect world but do you know who could come in because I don't. Any answers ?
Something to look at, we’re conceding 2 goals a games far too easily again this season anyway, so trying something different can’t be much worse. A flat back 4 might work, but also may stifle our attacking shape?
I can't even come close to thinking that I am well versed in footballing tactics and set up but at least I know when something isn't working. My message to NP is that whatever you are using in the tactical department to make us a more competitive outfit is falling flat on it's arse. The defensive play is shocking beyond comprehension and yet it continues to be shown every time we run out on to the pitch and from where I watch it looks like they all run over each other in their individual vain efforts to clear our lines. This idiocy can't continue if we are to progress, as stated by the hierarchy, but if the order of the day is to carry on and mind the insane choices made by both Nigel and the players then I fear we will be treated to much of the same for eternity. Based on my knowledge I won't offer solutions but someone in our employ is paid well enough to know what they are and put them into action. Words and promises don't do it for me anymore.
IMO our defensive coaches need the bollocking, what happened to man marking, anticipating oppositions moves, not leaving gaps, correctly tracking back.. Do we have leaders or a voice at the back to know when to hold the line and push up...when we are trying to play out from the back, not to try suicide passes in dangerous places....... I just see it all disjointed and unorganised.. not singing from the same hymn sheet.. As for personnel, without not knowing what we have coming up through the ranks...no idea.....either way, concentration is key and I believe it's what we lack..
I couldn't agree more. Although concentration is something I'm not sure you can coach. Hope I'm wrong but fear another loss tomorrow evening as I think we've been found out. Also believe to make things worse 3 consecutive defeats, albeit 2 away at top sides, has undermined our momentum and confidence.
Playing Coventry at this time isn't great - they've just beaten Boro and they will have a bit of self-belief. They will also be fully aware that we've 'wobbled' of late - and EVERYONE knows our glaring weaknesses. It could go either way psychologically - especially for us fans - lose and we will begin to feel the suction of a relegation scrap looming - whereas a win will set us back on the march for the playoffs again. It's a funny old game
we are entering a period where teams we play are changing the manager which often is a false dawn for them .... in our next 9 games we could have [ 3 already ] lost 8 games ........
