Nobody knows but he was good against us. Clearly skinning trent is not a good measure of a forward Seriously though. Carvalho, firmino, salah starts Diaz on at ht Jota on for firmino That hints at him being 5th choice. We will need to watch that trend to see what happens.
Well, the game was crying out for a change in formation but klopp didn't agree. Same we didn't hold the lead we got though. As I said we need to keep an eye on it rather than conclude it. I did say "hint"
Is that first time Klopp's done differently to what you thought he should do? We also took the lead so what Klopp did worked. Or are you saying we needed Nunez on top percent us from conceding a third?
No I said in thread we should have gone 424 at 0-2 and also at ht at 1-2. We did not and then klopp put jota on as well which for me says jota is ahead of nunez. I think it's one just to watch as nunez might just not be getting the system.in training more than anything else.
Just the odd assist like... I mean you'd swear he did nothing at all. He's doing more than others but not as much as he should be giving
Yeah. He's poor by the high standard we've come to expect from him, but he is making the effort, and hopefully he'll get his Mojo back soon.
Nunez will be fine. He’s a bit raw and Klopp already warned us a such. Not sure about a few of the others though
Not the greatest of starts, looks a bit clumsy and panicked at times but it's very early days too. Certainly going to need a lot of work.
Doesn’t help he’s come into a team that is all out of sorts. The success of our transfers is usually that they can integrate slowly into a team that is playing well and far less pressure on them. No doubt he’s looked rusty, he’s clearly a very good player but atm is trying to find form and fitness. The 3 match ban obviously didn’t help. think home game in CL v rangers is a good time to start him.
Don't think the style we play helps him either but then, it doesn't seem to be suitable for any of our players atm bar Diaz (although I reckon he'd adjust to any style) We've got a massive issue with balance imo, not only front to back but also right to left. Until that it's sorted, Nunez will struggle. I've not moaned about Trent's positioning because Klopp is clearly asking him to do it (Klopp would drop him if he wasn't and Klopp confirmed he's doing as asked too) but it's starting to grate on me now. Klopp himself said he wouldn't move Trent from RB to midfield because he's a world class RB and why try and fix what isn't broken. Trent's been superb for the last 2-3yrs at RB so going by Klopp's own words... why has change it? He's tried something and it's not worked. Wouldn't be so bad if we had someone in front of Trent that covers but we only have Hendo who can't play every minute AND covers for Fabinho too. When Hendo isn't at RCM, it's usually Trent, Elliott & Salah on that side, they all want to attack! The famous trio upfront have basically gone now too; Mane as left, Bobby had a good game yesterday but it's a rarity nowadays and Salah hasn't been the same player for nine months... we need to reinvent the attack. **** knows what's up with VVD. I'll give him the benefit of doubt for now and assume he's just out of form.
It's been grating on me for a long time. Regardless of whether Klopp is telling him to do it (or at least allowing him to) it's putting everything out of shape. I've always said I'm simply an observer - I don't go for picking the team or predicting the system before games, but even I'm perplexed at the logic behind this. There was an attack building on Saturday where there wasn't a single player within 20 yards of the RH touchline. Are they training in a corridor? No width and no option but to try and play it through a crowd.
