He looks very good on the ball. Comfortable in possession in tight spaces, mobile and strong. Got high hopes for this kid

A striker on the pitch and we would have won today, we created chances but unfortunately no end product. Knob behind me shouting "Gerrit in the f**kin box man", to whom exactly? Expecting midfielders to become strikers?I can understand why we trying to be trickey out wide and be clever to get into the box to create at "tap in". Can't fault anyone today, we simply have no strikers.

Just to add, and not wanting to be critical, but we need to get shot of the piss farting about across the back line, 2 or 3 times including the keeper we tried to be clever. A more attacking minded opposition will punish that. As soon as a keeper starts playing football, taking on opposition players,a striker could try a tackle, there's the keeper f**ked. Like getting a yellow card for taking your shirt off.

Agree on all points. Preston are an odd team, if they actually made an effort to attack then they might win some games. They seemed fixated on the 0-0 and were time wasting from early on. Seems strange to have no real interest in winning a game of football

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if he ends up being the best out of the summer signings

Agreed. I like Alese but Cirkin is a lot better at this stage. He’s quality and won’t be at SAFC for long, at all.

The time wasting was bordering on league one levels right from the start. Throw ins, free kicks, and the ****ing mag keeper fannying about with his goal kicks. Should have nipped in the first 15mins.

The ref was a joke today. Made it all about him. The whole histrionics around the drop ball was pathetic

Clarke must have been fouled a dozen times, shirt pulled, arm pulled back and all sorts and no yellow cards. I said to the people around me that I thought we were going to get mugged 0-1 and the ref will do something stupid. If we beat Blackpool it will be a good 4 points.

Getting farcical not scoring but we have the hapless Baggies on Wednesday

Why doesn't your team attack? Why time waste from the 1st min? So odd, because with a bit more attacking intent you could have won

No idea, huge lack of confidence from the strikers
As for time wasting check out the #teamslikepreston hashtag
Think it’s his mentality if you can’t win don’t lose

Said the same thing after the Watford game, Ba has a bit of everything and I'm convinced on his five year deal he'll be a great signing.

Their game plan was to disrupt Clarke at any cost, he was pretty much marked out of the game today but still played well and wriggled away now and again. However, it generally worked for Preston most of the time and Clarke got no protection from the ref who could have nipped it in the bud with a yellow or two early on.

Fair enough. Not sure it's a long term solution. Thought you defended very well. Proper bodies on the line

Probably one of Preston's biggest away followings and they had to watch their players crowding around the referee, at every free kick, demanding yellow cards ...

... even when the free kicks were for us <laugh>

Imagine grafting your nuts off from the age of 6 to ultimately become a professional footballer, spending hours and hours each day in the gym, doing training every day, tactical sessions, technical sessions, watching endless videos of your own performances to get better for the good of your career and then you end up playing for a gaffer that wants to piss away your 90mins on the stage you have grafted your arse off to play on each Saturday.

1 nowt up at Old Trafford in the last 3 mins and 'hitting the corners' is a different kettle of fish.

Must be soul destroying to do it from the first whistle.

I've been calling him Diallo but he goes by Amad apparently, there wasn't much concrete to go on but I was impressed. Great feet, quick in movement and decision making and not lacking in confidence to put it mildly. I think if we give him a chance upfront he'll deliver, he seems to have good chemistry with Roberts etc, on the same wavelength.

I was really surprised how quiet they were, there were loads of the buggers and they only made any noise two or three times in the game. Very unusual for away supporters to turn up in such numbers and not support their team.

Most eleven Championship players could've executed that 'master plan' today and stifled the game. Their better players are throwing away the chance to shine and progress imo, just eleven anonymous shirts not one of whom I'd want to sign.

And why would Spurs allow Parrott to go there to play in that team ...

... what can he learn except how to make a throw in take three minutes.

3000 of their fans must have payed about 70 quid for a ticket and travel to get up here for that. I was in the fans museum early doors today and there were a few Preston in with Sunderland fans who they knew, and met up with, I believe they have Norwich away next which must be another 100 on top of the 70. If I was paying just shy of 200 notes plus whatever their season tickets are then I'd want more than just pissing around with throw ins and free kicks for my money. The tactics that the likes of Steve Evans and Gareth Ainsowrth use need phasing out of the game not filtering up the leagues.

Yep. I watched with interest, 5 times they stopped a break from us before a single yellow. Once we stopped their break and got a yellow card. Every time with Preston he was intimating “no more”, yet he simply booked out first one! Pisses me off.

as fir 3 minutes added, **** man, their were 8 subs, at 30 seconds each, which is 4 minutes immediately. Then you look at the time wasting by them. Refs seem to turn up at the SoL and say “I’m going to make sure the crowd don’t apsway me” but that translates as “I’m going to punish Sunderland straight away but give their opponents much more leniency”
