Bumped into a kid draped in a Costa Rica flag who had flown in yesterday from San Jose to come and watch Bennette. Thats dedication

That's class. Clearly no hairs and graces with him yet. As I'm sure we pay him enough to get a taxi <laugh>

Just out of interest. How many clubs in this division have a 3rd choice striker? I'd wager that most teams in this division would be more ****ed than us if they lost their 2 strikers. Might be wrong like. What sort of striker would come here to play 3rd fiddle anyway? A ****e one probably. A one who, if included in today's team would weaken the current 1st eleven. Being disappointed with a 0-0 draw against a run of the mill championship team just shows how far we've come.

We lacked a CF today. Someone central to be willing to stretch their line and go into channels and be a threat in behind, albeit generally they defended quite deep anyway. You can see why that was their sixth 0-0, really solid defensively and tough to break down - those centre halves were monsters. They offered nothing in open play though and relied on freekicks in the final third or corners to create anything, hoping to win the first ball and hoover up anything that drops. An element of frustration not to manage to score but overall its another point on the board.

Im probably guilty of being to optimistic, but I enjoyed watching today. It's a strange feeling being frustrated that we could have played better but also pleased we kept the ball on the floor and played decent football

I can. He makes Clarke 10 times the player. He ripes the ball through the lines and gets round him.

Unlucky today. 0-0 is nothing to be sniffed at against an established championship side. Would have been a different story if the LND was playing.

I'd like to see Batth and Alese as CBs, with Cirkin at left back. Cirkin is far too good to be left out

    That's really harsh @Chunksafc

We have done well but today we would have won with a striker. It's that simple

    I didnt mention speakman.

    Havnt posted in a month.

Apologies if you think it's harsh, I think it does my head in that you post about being short., Yes you might not mention him but everyone is aware of who you mean

It's not simple that we would have won with a striker, no one knows that, of anything Preston would have been more.set up to us having a striker

If I recall Stewart has had half a dozen games, at times, when he hasn't scored ...

... it's not automatically sure we'd have scored today with him on the pitch.

Reading and Watford were the first time in ages that we've scored five in two consecutive away games. Preston were more interested in a 0-0 than anything else and were time wasting fro, the start.

    Pathetic display from them ...

... and why did the referee allow them to delay every free kick, theirs and ours equally.

My only worry is that Alese doesn't win many headers. For a lad his size he should be dominating in the air

I'm sure I've either seen or read somewhere where Mowbray has noticed that and is getting him up to speed on it so he is more dominant considering his size.

To be fair, we have the perfect manager for that particular short-coming

I agree Chunk, our movement was outstanding and a bit more composure in front of goal and we would have won that.

Having said that the clearance in the first half from Alese was outstanding, as was the save from Patterson second half and from my viewpoint they could have had a penalty, take the point and move on.
