Not a lot to say about that really, our young talent continued to impress and we were bright and focused throughout but we didn't create much.

They were solid and defended well although we still got in behind them plenty, big man in the middle was what we were lacking.

I'd say a 0-0 draw was fair enough.

Alese looked like he had a twin brother on the pitch, he was everywhere.
I like Cirkin, but I rate that lad more and dropping him would be an injustice

Sat on the coach on the way home, Alese impressive as we were in spells.

Draw an annoyance, but we do play some lovely stuff

We weren't left short in the last two games, today it just didn't click.

Your a great poster, but your negativity towards Speakman / recruitment does my head in

I would say poor finishing today, wild shots and 41,000 let down by the ref.

I'd add that as much as it was disappointing to draw, it was great to see the players playing football and the subs who came on made a difference.

    Ba looked very assured

    That's what Monty said :emoticon-0104-surpr
Not the best performance but still some good signs against a very well organised Preston defence. We missed having a striker up top but we did create a lot without finding the back of the net.

Playing without an out and out striker against a team that specialise on not conceding, 0-0 was to be expected. Hindsight.

Playing football is the key word mate, we can all see it, and staying in the top half of the table at the same time is all we could ask for. OaU

I have a mixed view of Speakman, he has undoubtedly brought in some really good players... kudos to him for that.

But for me he blots his copybook by not being honest and BSing. We needed another striker in the summer transfer window. As it happens we didn't bring one in, I am sure he was trying to, but the right guy at the right price did not happen. He should just say this, not pretend it was all part of a plan.

But what if he is telling the truth, if the plan is to play with 1 striker you ideally need 2 1st choice options (simms n stewart) and then other flexible options that can play up top (amad, dajaku, playing a false 9).

Speakman has been one of the best appointments weve made at the club in a long long time

Predictable result to be honest they swamp midfield passed sideways disrupted play made very little effort to score.
Another learning curve for us. With Stewart on we would probably have won.
I came away frustrated but very excited about what we have.
The talent and potential of our young lads is frightening.

That was really frustrating. We were the better technical team by far. PNE came and played to their strengths which was a set piece team who were there to stop us scoring and cancelling everything out, by breaking up play and being niggly. If they had nicked one then they were right.
Hindsight said we probably would have won with Ross or Ellis playing today. Nonetheless, had it been the last time around in this league we would have been hammered. It unfortunately just didn't happen today - one deflection, or a through ball an inch the other way and the story is different. I loved the way we kept on trying to play football till the end and am excited to see the talent we could produce from the bench.

Oh, and the ref was s***e.
