Hello, people who play FM2012. I got a little problem, I'm doing my Southampton career and i cant seem to win a game. I'm now in February, Saints are sitting just in side the play-off's, I had a good start to the season winning 16 of my first 24 games. Now I have not won a game for 8 games, not signed everyone, but got Jos on a 3 year contract, and loaned in harry Kane (Tottenham R). Does anyone have this problem or just me? Can any one help me out? Thanks for your help
Mate if it's not scoring goals that is the problem Billy Sharp is an absolute monster in the Championship, signed him in January and scored 21 having scored 18 for Donny previously! If you're conceding too many try playing a little more defensive.
Jordi Gomez from Wigan, Shola Ameobi from Newcastle and made Hoiveld permanent. PUT FOX ON CORNERS!!!! My 3 top scorers are as followed: 1. Fonte, 2. Lambert, 3. Hoiveld!!!!!!!! Fox is bloody brilliant at corners and crossing.
Have to agree with this. Even up in the Premiership now, Fox is still getting me 15+ assists each season (mainly from corners). I've even got him on free-kick duty now (Ricky isn't up to starting in the Premiership), so he chips in with the odd goal and assist from these too.
I got promoted with playing 4-4-2 on attacking style, short passing, fluid system, and more expressive play settings. Also set both full-backs (Fox & Hinkel) to attacking full-backs (so be prepared to concede the odd goal, it happens). Signed Emnes to partner Lambert/Barnard, Hinkel to play at RB, and Whittingham to rival Guly at RM. Rarely, if ever, played Chaplow, Butterfield, Connolly, Jaidi and Martin (all just not good enough on the game). Oh, and like Tom, I made Hooiveld permenant. Had to change that system in the Premiership, because whilst it still worked against the likes of Wigan and Bolton, it resulted in me conceding 5 or 6 or 7 a game vs United, City, Chelsea, Spurs etc (basically any team with pace on the counter, and clinical finishing). Moved to a 4-2-3-1, with the back two midfielders sitting right in front of the CBs and the front three midfielders sitting right behind the striker. Still play short passing, fluid style and more expressive, but have come down one "level" from attacking to control. Dicked Stoke 7-1 away with this yesterday, including a Lallana hat-trick and a couple for Daniel Sturridge.
Finished 16th in my first season, but was never in any real danger. The bottom four were absoloute rubbish. Cortese gave me about £18 million to spend following that, so I'm currently half way through my 2nd season in the Premiership and am just about sitting in 5th. (Would probably be 4th, but I failed to win any of my first 7 home games!!!! - despite winning every single one of my first 7 away games). This guy Kristjan Orn Sigurosson by the way. I urge everyone on here to get him if they have the chance. His contract ends with PSV in July 2013, and his agent then offered him to me. Never heard of him before, and he's in his 30s so initially I was put off. But I checked out his stats, and for a 30-something free tranfser: WOW!!! He's instantly replaced Fonte in my side, and whilst Tom is right in saying that Fonte & Hooiveld love Fox's corners, this guys absoloutely adores them. Already has 8 goals for me, all assisted by Fox's corners or free-kicks, and like I say I'm only have way through the season.
Neither really. When his loan expired with QPR in Jan 2012, he came back to me, only to then injure himself the next week and that was him done for the rest of the season - so he played no part in my promotion campaign. But a combination of some half decent stats, and a lack of funds for my first Premiership season, meant that I decided he'd be useful as a back up to the likes of Lallana and Guly. He probably made 5 league starts for me, and another 10 or so sub appearances. Did ok. This season, with the likes of Sturridge, Walters and Kranjcar all coming in, he's been limited to just cup appearances. But I don't want to sell him just in case something happens my one or two of my wide men, and I then need him in my matchday squad.
