Great thread as always @RTB I reckon we'll do them. With Preston not scoring too many, I think we'll have too much for them going forward. The confidence the team will have of the last 2 games and with a 40 thousand plus fans cheering them on, it'll be just too much for Preston
Concourse is open. Mainly singles left in the lower bowl. There are usually a fair few sold on a Friday before a Saturday game as well, they are bringing 2.5k so should be a great atmosphere. An early Patrick Roberts goal would be delightful
Apparently they've been creating plenty of chances just not putting them away, let's hope that continues.
The bairns footy is a 9am KO on Saturday as well so we will be out nice and early after that, just to avoid the queues of course.
We were 1130 KOs at Silksworth last season. ****ing nightmare it was, rushing around to get back and out for a pint. Ended up straight in the ground a few times drinking the crap they serve up.
Tony Mowbray has spoken to Nick Barnes ahead of Sunderland v Preston. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0d3g8f0
Imagine the buzz for Wigan (H) in 2 weeks time, if we do well in these next 3 games? Niall Quinn display planned for that game too
Another well done thread RTB as usual thank you again,Ive gone for a 3-1 to the lads if he unleashes the new players early second half it could turn into a rugby score lets hope so, we will be too powerful for them
He seems to like it here. Speakman seems to have reversed the trend of signing decent players who were unable to cope with 40,000 crowds and fanatical away support. The likes of Roberts, Clarke, Ballard, Pritchard, etc, can take it in their stride. We've seen players go from Sunderland to clubs like Wigan and do quite well because there's less pressure. "“It’s a team sport and I’ve come here and wanted to be here,” Roberts told the Echo. “It’s a great club and we had so much success last year." https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...and-difficult-start-to-the-season-3856213?amp
Spot on marra, me and my sons have been saying this for years, some players just can’t handle the pressure and expectations at our club
Mowbray expecting Ballard and Stewart back by the Millwall game. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-told-him-about-his-sunderland-future-3861612
Off topic but from that Echo story - its this quote from Mowbray that I am loving about him. We never ever ever ever talk about selling players. Its like its a taboo. He's basically telling players to go out there and prove they deserve to be in the premier league, with us or anybody else. Its such a change in tact. And it shows players we won't stand in their way if they progress with us, which whilst seemingly a bad thing, will mean players will want to come here to prove they deserve to be at the top. If we keep attracting that kind of player, eventually they won't need to leave to get to the top. "It's a fantastic place for him to be, and hopefully he can help this club progress to the Premier League over the coming years. If not, the phone will ring from the Premier League if he keeps scoring goals as he does."
