Since they're going to get relegated swap them some of our star championship performers lovenkrands, perch, smith et al.

Not certain but think this only applies to EU players, Hoillet is Canadian.

  4. Is it really that big of a deal? We need to be looking at strikers and CB cover!

    Not more attacking mids!

They've done it because he's seen as an important factor in trying to keep them up, in fact isn't £18m round about how much TV money they'd miss out on in a season or two if they went down?

Won't help mind, needs more than one good player to keep that shower afloat.

Strength in depth is what we are lacking, despite needing a couple of strikers a couple of CB's and a left back.

  7. We don't need more wingers/attacking mids though!

We have Jonas, Ober, Marveaux and then Sammy and Vuckic that have bags of potential but need game time.

Buying more wingers will just crowd things up and push our younguns further and further down the pecking order.

CB cover and striker first, then i don't give a **** who we buy.

I don't want to sign anyone who's name sounds like Toilet!!!!!!!

And £18 million for Hoilett is like asking £35 million for Carroll!!!!

Don't Spurs already have Dos Santos? the next leo messi? Hoillets alright, nothing to write home about, we might as well go for someone like Moses from Wigan or their striker what's his face? Rodallega, i rate them about the same. Useful, some skill but not better than n'zogbia or someone who went for 6-8 mio.

This will have Man City on red alert, you know how they love to snap up every attacking player on the planet.

    Expect a £24m bid in January. ;)

I disagree that Hoilett is nothing to write home about. He is a classy little player, only 21 years old and is fast, skillful, can score and set up goals. Has been brilliant for Blackburn who are a big pile of **** and can only get better.

Wouldn't pay £18m, but we could get him for less than that - its just Blackburn being stubborn ****s

You're mixing Dos Santos up with Bale.

Agreed that he's a big talent, proving himself in the top flight and would be lethal with the support of better players. I know we can wait until the summer to try and snap him up but I'd worry he'd have attracted bigger attention by then. I'd quite happily see us put a firm £8m bid in for him in January and see what Spurs do.

You're mixing up Bale with a skilful footballer and not just some fella that runs fast and kicks the ball in front of himself.

Yes, his second goal against QPR was all about speed, nothing to do with great awareness, passing and shooting <doh>

I agree Gareth Bale is a pretty rubbish footballer. As a favour, we'll take him off your hands for £5m. <whistle>
