Probably more sound logic than the social engineering/corporate vendetta that you seem to be implying. It's a national company. Traffic is everything as that denotes the 'bottom-line' to them as a business and subsidises the physical copy circulation - which accross the whole industry nowadays is not sufficient by itself to turn a profit.
Just get an AdBlocker for your phone, it disabled every ad on their site and I can browse it like a normal webpage.
Just been on hulldailymail.co.uk There were 2 Super League RL articles, 2 HullFC articles, 1 HKR, 1 generic footie article, 1 generic RL article and 3 City-specific. All similar size and placement. Reasonable spread, no?
So, there is more interest in rugby league in Hull than football? They have had articles this week on the RL World Cup build up and the Grand Final. No articles about the football World Cup. Do they do build up to the FA Cup Final? Which do you think is more watched? There are articles about NRL teams. Do they have them about Bundesliga and La Liga teams? There will be far more people in pubs watching the football World Cup than the RL one. There are far more, regrettably, people watching PL games involving non Hull teams than there are watching Super League games involving non Hull teams. It isn’t just about City, FC and Rovers.
I said 'IF' there are more articles then it's down to demand and ultimately revenue. You're the one who seems to be accessing a page where there's more RL than footie. It's not something I've noticed personally.
So you say. I still don't know which page you're referring to. I tend to see a fairly even split when I access hull live. I honestly don't think the shareholders at Reach Plc give a flying **** about the split, just about maximising income.
I've just read an article about Lewis Coyle issuing a rally cry for, wait for it....Tonight's Match!! According to them 'The Tigers are back in action this evening '
to be fair, to even see anything city related on the main page of hdm you have to scroll past a story about a cat being a student
No. 2 of those City articles weren’t there this morning. Why are there Super League articles but not Championship or PL ones? Articles about the RL World Cup but not the football one? More articles about what may. happen in March in RL than what is happening now in football? Though both our clubs are nailed on for success in the Challenge Cup. Tried to get good odds on a double for both our clubs to reach the 6th round but the bookies wouldn’t lay a bet on it for some reason,
It was published today at 17.00 and updated at 17.19.Surprised it's erroneous, considering Baz 'Mr Hull City' Cooper wrote it
I suspect they've been skimping on editorial staff to pay for the colossal quantity of RL copy they're publishing on Hull Live... Is the football WC starting in a fortnight and is Hull hosting group stage games? Does it not publish generic articles about football to maintain interest during the closed season when there's little club stuff to report? Nah, it's all a big conspiracy...
Tell you what, you give me a pound for every article about RL on main page and I will give you a pound for everyone about football. The main page is the first page that opens up on the HDM website, a simple concept you seem to be having difficulty grasping. Over the course of a few weeks you will be well out of pocket. 7 articles about RL at the moment 3 about City.https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/
I see every City article on Hull Live, I never see a single Rugby League article, I wouldn’t know there were any RL articles at all if people didn’t bang on about them on here.
