Matthew in Hertfordshire is a social worker and his wife is a teacher. They’re considering getting second jobs to cope with the rising cost of living. [ taken from one of the interviews earlier ]

Imagine if all the lazy b*rst**ards went out and worked ..so freed up dole handouts etc and even paid tax these 2 people wouldnt have a job to go to for a second employment... but then of course .gov not having to pay them for sitting on their bums / doing cash in hand! would mean Mathew and wife wouldnt need to!

I used to like the political chat show she used to be on with Michael Portillo.
Their body language on that programme was fascinating - it looked like they were madly in love.

Since then I’ve learned to detest her - but her (possible) saving grace could be that she comes across as utterly stupid - so people won’t take her seriously.

oops - I’m being Right Wing again - must balance it with an attack on a Tory……..

The country, and successive governments over many decades, just like the uncontrolled immigration we have allowed and don't have the balls to sort out with any real conviction, has made it too easy for bone idle people to spend their entire life on benefits, playing the system. which they see as a badge of honour and a career choice while they still have a state of the art I-Phone and expensive trainers from taxpayers money.

Where did the country's values and self respect go ?

There are still the best part of 1m job vacancies in this country. No one is asking an uneducated and unemployed person to be a Doctor overnight, but there are plenty of roles they could fill, thus saving the country money and filling jobs and improving the economy.

But a lot of people just aren't interested in working, the way the Government, despite the current economic crisis, isn't truly interested in saving themselves £4bn a year for other more urgent matters, which is what immigration costs us currently.

Winford Manor hotel has now apparently been given over to 80 odd Somalian's who are being a pain in and around the village. The hotel are coining it in from the Government of course, and this is the message on their website homepage
Due to lack of capacity, we are not accepting any new bookings after 31st May.
    Check back with us later.

This is in addition to the Holiday Inn Bristol Airport which is also full of immigrants and where holidaymakers and business people alike can't book a room since earlier this year. I've just tried multiple dates and there is no availability of any day from now until the new year.

This is happening in more and more places. In June 2021 I booked a hotel in Wolverhampton to go to a gig there for the November, only to be told a few weeks before the show that the hotel had been requisitioned for immigrants and my booking had been cancelled. So I booked another hotel and that went the same way a week or so later.
So I ended up finding a third hotel, paying nearly double what the first hotel would have cost and it was much further away from the venue so cost me Taxi fares both ways, and paying for parking which was free at the first two hotels, all due to no fault of mine.
Very fair on the tax paying public, not !!

And the worst part of all is that NO political party in this country would have the will to actually act and sort out the things that are the main complaints of the electorate.
Starmer seems like a nice bloke but he has no real policies.
I also couldn't vote for someone who
    1) Takes the knee for BLM
    2) Spent 2 years trying to get a second referendum on Brexit because he didn't like the result of the first
    3) Who championed the poisonous Communist Jeremy Corbyn to be PM
    4) Can't tell an interviewer what a woman is

    We are genuinely ****ed !

Re Winford Manor - apparently the newish owner paid £1.7 mill for it less than two years ago and is making it quite well known that he will have paid that off within two years much to the disgust and annoyance of locals.

Also, said locals are already taking matters into their own hands with the occupants being a pain as the Police and other authorities seem disinterested!!

I heard a similar story where the immigrants had apparently gone to the local pub in Winford, ordered drinks but had no money to pay for them and were told in no uncertain terms to leave and not return.

Local people are right to push back against this ridiculous practice which is growing by the week and which is seriously affecting local communities up and down the country.

You just pray it doesn't land on your own doorstep next.

Jeremy Vine show . is very left right and centre Tory Labour!! [USUALLY A DAY OF EACH] today it was Tory bashing! He gets fed people to talk to by a backroom staff of researchers who follow "the days pattern of the show"
HOWEVER most days in amongst the drivel and of course the good stuff little jewels sneak in. Today the onus was on the markets .... BASH BASH BASH BASH BASH jewel BASH BASH .............ETC.
Today stockmarket bashing [ bashing is all about Liz & Kwasi ] and a monetary person gets 30 secs when others get Minutes............

the jewel ......... " what you have to appreciate is the stockmarket is operated by financial agents/people that survive by making money, they crash the market!!!!"[ they generate bear and bull markets

    my notes .
They start selling and the market goes down, so more sell, so more sell, but the trick is to start buying from time to time as the market goes down! Thats where the ones on the floor who help set up the market start to make their money, at a point no one sells ... most have nothing left, it bottoms out ( a couple weeks or a month or whenever )!!!! so they buy up a share they started off having 1,000,000 of at say £1 a share and sold/sell maybe x of them, then replace with x+ y as market recovers, and finish up back at a pound with maybe 1,300,000+ if at right time also benefit with the dividends on 300,000 extra shares]

When I had my operation in 2019 and was house bound for 4+ weeks I used BT and another stock to do something similar Over a 4 + week period I made 123 trades BT finished with an extra 273 shares initial sell 198.06p /last buy 158.05 the other stock with an extra 43 shares sell 703p buy645p banked £200 cash [ 96 BT trades ] actually more sells than buys 61/35 ... my bill for a 2 month trading period was £870 paid from profits of course, included usual other standing charges etc.

To a degree it is on my doorstep already as I live in the general area and close family live in Lulsgate and Felton Common areas.

I've heard the pub story from various sources but there are rumours of more serious incidents having occurred. I stress that they are rumours at this stage. It was also rumoured that the Premier Inn at the Sidcot Arms was going to be used for them as well, but I know several staff there and they are not aware of anything going down at the moment.

The UK's economy grew in the second quarter of this year, contrary to an initial reading which said it had shrunk, revised official data suggests.

Economic output rose by 0.2% between April and June, revised up from a previous reading of -0.1%, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

It suggests the UK is not currently in recession, as was predicted by the Bank of England earlier this month.

However, the economy is still smaller than it was before the Covid pandemic.

This is because the new ONS figures show the impact of Covid on the economy was more severe than previously thought, and it had shrunk by more than estimated in the first few months of the pandemic.

It's only a matter of time before it's even more widespread.
The Sidcot Arms is nice, it would be a shame if that was given over as well but I wouldn't be surprised.
As for the owner of the Winford Manor Hotel, who do you blame ? Him for taking easy money offered on a plate, or the Government for not being effective with their immigration stance ?
And all the people that cheated the taxpayer out of billions of furlough money, which will never be chased. It was an open cheque book for those who were wanting to exploit the situation.
But we sit back and let people commit fraud under our noses.

it is being chased the initial task force still at it but the 1000's who defrauded it and felt guilty / worried of the consequences were easily mopped up. Now it those who are more resilient and think it wont happen to them.... " a known builder" has just been done for a very large sum of money ... bought a house to do up and move into .... paid cash!!! now investigation has him having done up the property and almost ready to move ... but being caught from 2 directions ... furlough and loans and money laundering .... did loads of cash without reciepts apparrently over 15 years, [ rumour from ex employee also worried as paid some cash in hand ] solike the mounties will always try to get their man!!!!

"last year we stopped or recovered £743m of overclaimed grants in the CJRS, SEISS and EOHO schemes."
13,000 one-to-one fraud and error enquiries were opened in 20/21 and HMRC wrote to 75,000 people. We have so far stopped or recovered £743m of overclaimed grants in 20/21.
The taskforce is expected to recover up to £1.5bn from fraudulent or incorrect payments by end 22-23."

There has also been some 50 arrests for more serious cases and loads of bankruptcy/ etc cases

Liz Truss has resisted calls to bring forward publication of the independent fiscal watchdog's assessment of her tax plans.

The PM said she was "committed" to publishing the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecast on 23 November, the same day the chancellor is due to set out further economic plans.

But some Conservative MPs want to see this sooner in order to reassure financial markets.

The Treasury argues it should wait until additional changes are announced. ... SO THE TREASURY BEHIND HER!

Writing on Friday, Ms Truss said: "I am going to do things differently. It involves difficult decisions and does involve disruption in the short term."

She also reiterated her commitment to "get the economy growing", with plans to stimulate growth expected to include measures in eight areas - business regulation, agriculture, housing and planning, immigration, mobile and broadband, financial services, childcare, and energy. ................. SO MUCH TO SORT SO NEEDS TIME TO GET IT RIGHT ... patience is a virtue

And she insisted she would maintain an "iron grip on the national finances".

She can’t maintain something she doesn’t already have, she will have to gain, or regain it, academic really though as she isn’t going to regain it either. There’s already rumbling’s that her time is limited. Historically Tory’s don’t stick with PM’s that in their eyes are failures.
