Bellingham was a beast tonight. Lovely to see someone playing for the shirt.

A bit of a reaction and I thought we were better. Shaw, Bellingham, Rice all very good. Mount as well when he came on. Shame the win didnt come, but signs of life still. Southgate cant afford to go into the tournament with the Maguire debate IMO, it will be like a millstone round his neck. I think he will take him though.

 

Came alive for 20 mins and we were much better. Need to question why we aren't starting like that, especially at Wembley against these ****ers - no motivation required. He will take Maguire and start him 100%. I hope I'm wrong but I do think we will struggle in the WC. Nee way should Pope be on the plane.

 

Pope hasnt looked good at all IMO. Clanger aside he has not looked like a commanding keeper.

This is going to sound odd but the game against Iran is massive for this side now. If they can start with a win and a good performance then the tournament will feel a good place to be. I still fancy us to show up well and a last 4 spot is up for grabs, then who knows. Brazil will be hard to beat I think but beneath them it is much of a muchness for me, and we are in there with them.

 

Just seen that. What have we actually learned from the last 2 games? Can Ivan Toney step up if Kane breaks a metatarsal next week for Spuds? Have we got an alternative shape to 3 at the back? Will Saka play LWB ever again? Bellingham and Rice are the midfield 2 I assume? Maguire will play, how bad is Stones' injury and who comes in? Walker?

How many years has Southgate been there and he still can't see we play better with some tempo.

And putting Maguire in both games when he's under the cosh and not playing at Utd. Shameful.

Oliver Skipp needs to get himself away from Spurs in my opinion. He is a cracking player and now he needs to be playing regularly for his progression.
