Excellent save. He's been very good their keeper.

At least England have shown that they haven't just become a poor team
Great fight back, with Saka and Mount making a big difference.
Bellingham must always start, but for the love of God, play 4-3-3.

Well I rest my case for Saka starting on the right wing, and Bellingham ahead of Rice. Shame that he won't change the defence or formation. Decent 2nd half going forward but can't win anything with Maguire in side.

Well Presumably that would be considered a morale boosting draw after being 2 down with 20 minutes to go...... need to sort out the goal keeping and center back problems as neither Pope, Maguire or Dier inspire confidence........ Not sure why Ramsdale didn't start as he's a better footballing keeper than Pope....... I don't know enough about any other center halves that are available......

Pickford will be in goal pal, and there are Centre backs he should've been picking but won't now. He also won't change the formation and his love in with Maguire dooms us. A top manager could well have done special things with the players at his disposal , but we'll never know now. An attacking England side can cause any team problems but being a cautious manager we rarely see it, usually because he's started with the wrong players. If he played the flair players we have in their correct positions we could beat anyone but he won't. He should've been giving Tomori and White games at Centre half but it's too late now. If Stones' injury is a bad one then our defence is in a really grim state !

But shouldn't be starting, especially in that position. No matter how you dress it up he should've scored twice and buried neither. His finishing is very like Dykes, when he has no time to think about it and has to hit it first time he's alot better than when he's 1 on 1 and dawdles and misses.

Everyone seems to just ignore the fact he was our best player in the Euros and his scoring record for England is excellent.

Having said that, I agree that he shouldn't now start.

No problem with the goal keeping as long as Pickford is fit.
Head and shoulders above Pope and still ahead of Ramsdale imo.
Dier is playing really well and I'd pick him ahead of Maguire all day long.

The main problem now is that Southgate won't play a back four.
This means we have to play 3 centre backs, although I realise one of them would be Walker, who's pace is a huge factor.
Mount made a huge case for starting, but he doesn't fit into a 3-4-3.

It's this stubbornness to stick with 3 at the back, meaning less flair players on the pitch that will do for Southgate and England.

Don't ignore mate but it should be even better with the chances he's missed ! There's a reason that Pep was willing to let him leave City so readily and it wasn't just Haaland. He wants to play Grealish more on that left hand side, Southgate should take note.

I didn't mean before the WC. I can't see us shining in that tournament without some fresh ideas changes. Start with replacing Maguire

Grealish has yet to fulfil anywhere near the hype surrounding him.

Agreed but I reckon Pep will work on him the same way he did with Sterling, made him a much better player.

He made a big impact last night, along with Saka. Fantastic goal.
Mount seems to be another one that people like to hate.

He won't start anyway, not in a 3-4-3.

Good to hear. I missed the second half of the match, so missed all the action. I think Mount has huge potential on the international scene, but hasn't quite shown it until now. I'd love him to have a good WC

How many games has he started for England ? Maybe if he was given more starts he'd grow into the role more, its not easy constantly coming on a sub or not being used at all !
